You're one of my favorite channels at the moment :D keep doing what u do! I was wondering if you knew the genres for some obscure stray kids songs... a lot of their earlier bsides sound really experimental so I'm interested to know if u can hear any genres: WHO?, Hero's Soup, Chronosaurus, 3rd Eye, NOT!, YOU., Any, and The Tortoise and the Hare. No pressure though :)

KISS MEEEEEEE DONT SAY NOOOOOO Honestly, I can understand why so many people aren’t into this, at first I also was a little bit skeptical, but I always remember this song when I think about summer, and it really saved it for me And again, how good boy gone bad, get loud, red flavor and work can be worst..? GBGB even made me dig deeper into txt, that’s how much I loved it

Edit 3 - I love Heya so much!! 3:20 Edit 4 - Another favourite: 4:04 Edit 5 feeling euphoric again: 4:19 Is it just me who feels like 5:14 is underappreciated?

I agree Uh-Oh is so underrated!! however Tomboy is straight fire so I completely disagree on that but you are free to dislike it if you wanna, personally, my favorite G idle title track is Oh My God/Nxde,, and my least favorite is probabaly Klaxon
@brendan6555Күн бұрын
Really cool video, but I disagree with some of your electropop examples and description - A lot of the ones you played were just dance-pop instead of electropop (sneakers, cheer up, tell me). They get confused a lot but electropop NEEDS to have that low frequency synthesizer sound or the sort of "rolling" synth sound (hard to describe in words but basically the beat of Love Me Harder, Do What U Want, and Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl choruses). I would say dance-pop is the #1 most common genre in k-pop, closely followed by contemporary R&B.
@taemteezКүн бұрын
i definitely hear you, but it really conflicts with what i've learned about electropop and even what RYM and wikipedia say about the genre - not to say you're wrong at all, i'm just not sure who to believe lol 😭😭 from what i know at least, it has majorly evolved from that sound in the same way that contemporary r&b has evolved from the stereotypical 2000s sound to what we know of it now
@brendan6555Күн бұрын
@taemteez Maybe I didn't explain clearly enough, but I agree with the RYM definition - maybe it doesn't need to have the deep buzzing synth sound necessarily but it does need to have modern synth sounds and dense sound design, so I think songs like sneakers and tell me don't really fit that definition. People do argue about electropop and whether any sorta EDM-pop crossover is technically included as electropop or not so Cheer Up could fit under that
@brendan655519 сағат бұрын
@@taemteez also I would personally say contemporary R&B in the 2000s and nowadays is pretty similar - any sound divergent enough can be placed into specific subgenres like trap soul, alternative R&B, hip hop soul etc. Electropop doesn't really have that luxury since there aren't any subgenres to my knowledge.
@franimer2107Күн бұрын
Hey can anyone give me more "iconic" examples of contemporary r&b? As in more popular or known songs?
@taemteezКүн бұрын
hmmm it depends, i would consider most of the examples i put as pretty well known. not many title tracks are contemporary r&b if that's what your asking? psycho by red velvet, ponzona by purple kiss, and welcome to my world by aespa are the only ones that i can think of
@franimer2107Күн бұрын
@ ok thanks!!
@brendan655519 сағат бұрын
@@franimer2107 Into The New World (SNSD) and Good Girl Bad Girl (Miss A) are really good 2nd Gen examples (they're combined with dance or synth pop influenced as well)

This is such a good idea! It's so cool to look into the genres that influence K-pop
@rosieintheposieКүн бұрын
I think my favorite genre out of these is Future House! I love the glitzy and full instrumentals that groups like IZ*ONE, Rocket Punch, APRIL, SF9, ONEUS, WJSN, etc; brought to the industry. I also love the feel-good vibes of Nu Disco and Summer Kpop as a whole 😊
