Agility wants legs but not hands. Sanctuary wants hands but not legs. This is why both of these companies will be surpassed by the ones that make both.

Legs alone have limitations. Having only two legs means more limitations. A combination of wheels and legs, reduces these restrictions. Three or more wheeled legs (roller-blade size, powered wheels) would result in a fast, stable base, with smooth movement, even when powered down. It could still climb stairs and work in a human space.

Admitting you should use wheels if the use case supports it is fantastic and true. For a multi use case solution, as the narrator points out, legs make sense if the environment were not traversable with wheels. For robotics though which is an industry full of specialistic applications and not generalist systems, we would anticipate agility robotics would be outcompeted by a wheel and manipulator arm based solution for warehouse applications. If these robots have you fearing an uprising, check out our video on if robots are dangerous: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpbKeHdmfqeShbM

EXACTLY. It baffles me how I never see robotics engineers working on such an obvious solution, the possibilities are endless, the energy efficiency would be far greater, and balance would also be more reliable when the tip of the feet can slide to position itself. Why mimic nature when you can easily improve upon it? Makes me regret not going into robotics myself.
