Agility Robotics

Күн бұрын

Today we announce the opening of our first RoboFab™, a robot manufacturing facility in Salem, Oregon with the capability to produce more than 10,000 robots per year.
Initial construction of the 70,000-square-foot robot factory began last year, and it is set to
open later this year. Agility anticipates production capacity of hundreds of Digit robots in the first year, with the capability to scale to more than 10,000 robots per year. At full capacity, RoboFab will employ more than 500 workers in Salem, in addition to employees at Agility’s other locations.
---------------------------------------
At Agility, we make robots that are made for work. Our robot Digit works alongside us in spaces designed for people. Digit handles the tedious and repetitive tasks meant for a machine, allowing companies and their people to focus on the work that requires the human element.

Robots can be sent to other planets like Titan and mars that could make buildings so when humans arrive they have habitats, 3d printing can be used. Robots can survive in harsher conditions, and the habitats can be monitored. Satellites can relay information, to monitor them. Also this could be something in terms of space exploration, robots can be used in long flights even some could be for many years on stand by or low power mode then restart in a similar way that it has been suggested to put humans in staysis.

@xsuploader

the main reason for not getting orders is because the price is 150k the main reason the price is 150k is because they cant produce at scale. thats why they made the factory. so they can 100x their annual production and reduce price by like 75% (generally one order of magnitude leads to a 50% in price as a rule of thumb)

It's Especially important to note that with a massive amount of old ppl going into retirement and unable to work we will need ways to remedy that problem. There is also the fact America is trying to decouple from China, we will need other ways to improve our efficiency in manufacturing and develop robotics to stay competitive with China's massive labor force.

Say it is not so, with so many empty big buildings everywhere Just spending the VC's money. I would like to see the Milestone of 500 robots the first year and all delivered, That would make them successful. But I have seen this market, I have seen lots of innovation. It does not make it to market. We will seen a posting 18 months from now, that they have closed. Lots of other questions, How long does the battery last, how quick to charge, if they only run for 2 hours and take 8 to charge, can it swap out its own battery? I have seem Lot of great things over the past 50 years, that would have help man kind, but it did not make it to market.

The purpose of our existence is to build intelligent machines, the properties of materials that make these systems possible already existed in the Universe long before we came to be. It was already planned to occur by one lifeform or another. We did not choose to utilize the fire, we were forced by nature if we desired to progress our societies, this is true for most technologies and AI certainly is one of them and that is how man shall be replaced by their own doing as the Universe wish.
@AetherXIV
@AetherXIV Жыл бұрын
@@Danuxsy oh jeez I wouldn't go that far. You talk like a materialist and a hard determinist. That was pretty and I appreciate you sharing. Some thoughts though. Not all humans are technological. Millenia passed on the Australian Bushmen and the Amerindians with little technological progress. The Faustian West have carried the torch of Prometheus and the East Asians have joined us. Second, I don't think even AGI means the end of Humanity. After the singularity who knows what will happen but I think some of humanity will continue and the species we re-speciate. So I guess in that sense Humanity will end. But I also don't think we are meat sacks. Consciousness has still not be explained and materialism can't hold back all the specters it's hidden in the closet. My hope is that some of humanity achieves godhood and uses AGI to become Neitzchian Supermen who colonize the galaxy and explore all of time and space. Even if we all get culled by the rulers and replaced by robots we'll reincarnate and the Universe will experience itself through us in another form.

You think too highly of man, we are but an animal like any other, a by product of evolution. Homo sapiens are the most vile and disgusting lifeform that has ever walked the Earth, we are driven by primitive biological urges leading us to slaughter each other, rape each other. We worship deities that do not exist and we justify our attrocities in their names and you want this to be preserved? Because this is what mankind is and will always be, unless of course we transcend through technology but then we would not be homo sapiens anymore, rather homo deus. @@AetherXIV

See my channel most recent video. There are 15+ companies building humanoid robots across the world. This is world's first dedicated mass production robot facility. Tesla should also be in mass production next year. The big takeaway here is that mass production of humanoid robots begins in 2024. The days for biological human jobs are numbered.

Sounds great yet knowing what we all know about human nature or the human condition, I'm getting fairly concerned of what the future could become. The possible conflicts expressed in works of fiction like in 'Detroit Become Human' and 'The Animatrix: The Second Renaissance' is chilling and is fast creeping to be a reality. As a species I don't think we're ready!
