@@DonsShed not really. It was 5hp on 100% stock car. If the exhaust already creates so much gains that you hit the max the oem ecu is willing to hit, then you will peobably not see any gain, whatever the intake you use

My 2zz got sold and k20 is going in. Few reasons personally Oil starvation if tracked so need an oil pan Oil pump gears shatter if sustained rpm like track, so needs new gears Lift bolts are a CONSTANT maintenance item I had it for 3 years and it was fun when it worked but, I sold my swap for roughly the same price as my k20a2 swap has cost so far, and the gains are quite large on paper

Hi, thanks for your input. You may have seen it in my other video but I exploded a 2zz in a time attack race. So thats why I changed. I hand new lift bolts and a new oil pump in, so they help… Yes its a bit of a oil starvation problem under very hard cornering. I had only the 1zz pan and probably was barely full of oil. Didn’t over fil so that could have been my mistakes. In the end I enjoy swapping motors with new stuff. So thats why I did it. It was waaaay more expensive. No doubt. The donor car cost easly twice the price

Why not use 9x19 ? the standard curcuit pack wheels look bigger due to the spokes going out to the edge of the wheel, these Wedssports make the wheels look smaller 😮 19s should be the way to go 😊

I just have to say the power lost to the wheels in a fwd car is cloesr to 10-15% and thats with the wheels on. 18% is what rwd cars loose with the wheels on. If you do your calculations correctly and research right you will learn that only the lotus 2zz engines made 190 hp and all the others made 180hp or less depending on the year. The overinflated numbers your showing are very inaccurate so it might be best to just show the actual hp you made to the hubs which without the losses from wheels would be closer to 8 to 11%. If i recalculate your numbers you actually made 162 to the hubs which if you multiply by 11% makes the actual 180 the 2zz should make. Granted your losses are a bit less than 11% but the engine is used and will be down a hp or 2 further proving my figures to be more accurate.
@JesseSpec
@JesseSpec 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your input. I see you got triggered by the transmission loss. In Europe we just like to have an Engine power figure… you must be from the US. Thats funny, we get more often 25% as a benchmark for ff cars in transmission loss. Where do yOu base your claims on? In what country are you? US? I am Switzerland and our cars are officially registered at 192hp. US Spec is not like the EU Spec. We run with 98 octane, more like in Japan. To be honest the numbers seem very realistic. But even then, if you feel like disputing the transmission factor loss I use, thats your choice. Whats important in the end is using that transmission loss accross the board on all the runs and pulls I did after that basemark. To determine the gain. Who gives a damn about the end number? Its the gain we want to see. This is my first video, you will see there are litteraly a hundred more videos I posted and probably 30-40about the 2zz. Give them a watch and tell me what you think.

The 2zz is also quite plentiful in junkyards appearing in the Vibe GT, Matrix XRS, Corolla XRS, and Celica GTS. These are often overlooked by DIY auto enthusiasts as opposed to Honda engines making cheap 2zz and components plentiful and cheap. While Honda engines are superior in tuning capability the 2zz has proven to be capable of making well over 500hp (although the reliability is a valid concern). If you Toyota fellas want more 2zz content check out the Jamaican drag racing scene, a good channel on KZbin is motorsportsja showcasing 2zz swapped starlets and Corollas making impressive passes.
