I've owned two Pontiacs so far. My first one was a 1979 Trans Am. Terrific looking car- total piece of junk. It had the 6.6 litre engine- Oldsmobile 403. All of 186 horsepower. Good bit of torque though- which was useless because it had a THM 350 transmission. At the age of 19, yes I had a bit of a heavy foot. I blew three torque converters before my father and I went to a transmission specialist who rebuilt it with beefed-up parts and put a shift kit in it. No more blown torque converters. At 70,000 miles, it was worn completely out. I think I sold it for $1500. In good shape now, it's probably be a $35,000 car. Oh well.... My second one was a 1992 Bonneville SSE. One of the best cars I've ever had. Comfortable, stylish and teched-out. It had a Heads Up Display, 378-way adjustable leather front seats, power moonroof. I put over 120k miles on that car and the only issue- but it was a big one- was when the climate control went out. Repairs would have been about $1500- at that point, it was paid for so I traded it in.
