He looks too chunky comparing to the earthrise and design looks very off kinda like a KO. doesn't look like the MP44 unlike the Ultra Magnus that looks more MP resize..

It honestly looks fantastic! However, this is probably gonna give people high standards from here on out whenever a new optimus drops 😂. I also don’t own much OP’s in my collection so this is perfect for me. Hope they cook with that rumored g1 megatron aswell!

I’ve honestly always disliked the earthrise prime mould because it was so close yet had the glaring flaw of having the exposed “butt wheels” which has stopped me from buying it for a long time. So I’ve honestly been waiting for a figure like commander Optimus for years since earthrise at this point, thus why personally I’m happy that this figure is finally available for preorder.

I'm not fond of the Bayverse movies and interpretations of the characters, but I understand the reasoning behind the choices that were made and I really appreciate this essay in sticking up for it. Not liking a story isn't justification for that story to not be told! These movies also really helped the Transformers franchise flourish and elements of Bayverse Optimus can be found in most of the Optimus portrayals in Transformers media since. I'll always love the films for that even if they're not my favorite.

I like TLK Hot Rod. He is the only version of Hot Rod I like.

The fallen and the rest of the primes’ designs were peak. They really had an otherworldly, godlike silhouette to them, and had a voice which would give even Optimus a run for his money. Traditionally the decepticon logo is associated with soundwave, but the way they subtly put it into the Fallen is amazing. I also think that it makes the line “give me your face” even more special, he was basically peeling off the face behind the logo of his most hated enemy.

Eh, pass. With Hasbro’s quality control flushed down the toilet, I’m not convinced to spend any money on it. My legacy animated Prowl broke, my toxictron Mirage was missing a wheel, and I still feel ripped off. No thanks, I’m out. Now I just stick to writing my Kiss Players reboot while watching dancing girls on KZbin. Good times, indeed.

I was expecting the looks to be similar to The masterpiece version but in Voyager class just like what they did with The Live Action Starscream and G1 Hot rod but seeing this I'm kind dissapointed……

The thing about Bayverse Prime is that his violence makes sense when you read between the lines. He held back against Megatron in 07 because he still had some emotional attachment to his brother. Hell, he isn’t even a psychopath once in 07, because A) Bonecrusher killed a lot of people on the highway for no reason and B) Optimus only decapitates him after Bonecrusher instigated the fight by tackling Prime off the bridge. No over-the-top death sequence. Just a quick and efficient way to get rid of a threat to himself and the humans around him. In ROTF, Optimus still holds back. It’s only when Megatron and his goons clearly show that they won’t leave without Sam, that Optimus goes berserk, because not only would he have lost Sam otherwise, he’d also end up losing humanity and the planet he called home. Keep in mind, only two years have passed since he thought Megatron was gone for good, which in Cybertronian time, means like 2 days. Of course he was gonna be a little more than unhappy to see Megatron again, back to his old Megatron ways of trying to destroy/take over the planet, this time with the help of the Fallen. Even then, Optimus let Megatron go at the end of ROTF. Speaking of the Fallen, he tried to destroy a sun. He really had it coming. In Dark of the Moon, Sentinel and Megatron literally started a Deception invasion. Thousands died and Optimus definitely had some mental cracks forming after his own mentor betrayed him and killed Ironhide, one of his closest friends. He was right to shoot Sentinel in the head, and while people still debate about if Optimus was justified in killing Megatron despite Megs offering a truce, I personally take Prime’s side there. If Prime had offed Megatron at the end of ROTF, Sentinel’s plan would’ve either taken a jog to the left which would’ve allowed the Autobots more time to catch on to Sentinel’s schemes, or his plan would’ve failed entirely since the Decepticons would’ve never really obeyed him like they did with Megatron. Age of Extinction, it’s pretty understandable that Prime is fed up with everyone’s BS, so much so, that he kills a human just to protect one of his human friends, and since Sam died likely to Cemetery Wind, Optimus had yet another chip on his shoulder. I’m not even gonna bother with the TLK. You see, Bayverse Prime is when a good person has had enough of people not changing whenever they were given chances to. The issue here is that, the writing doesn’t really focus on that aspect of Optimus as a broken war veteran. Instead, he gets treated like a spectacle for every kill he gets, and none of his own team mates think twice about their leader’s brutality. It’s a shame too, because had the Bayverse actually had better cohesive writing, we could’ve had a Transformers equivalent of Injustice Superman. Sorry for the long paragraph, I’m just sick of people hating on Bayverse Prime mindlessly.

Ugh Am I the only person around here who is sick and tired of G1? They look so boring and outdated to look at.

This figure is definitely a must have for me but this better be the last g1 optimus figure we get. And I wouldn’t be surprised if hasbro did do yet another g1 optimus people will find a way to hate on this one, and on the topic of g1 after watching some episodes and the movie, I think overall it was good and a great start for the franchise but geewunners and Hasbro’s need to shove g1 in everything and neglect of other parts of the overall franchise ruins the image of g1 itself and makes people not want to give it a chance

Once again, I agree with everything in your video. He looks decent and nice, but I'm not excited about yet another G1 Prime. Especially with that stupid boring trailer. The "short" vibe is because of the proportions. They're not right. He's too wide and thick and you're right about the MP-10 vibes.

I think this figure looks awesome, I'm definitely getting him since I don't have a cartoon like optimus in my collection yet. If they can remake g1 optimus prime, so can they remake bayverse optimus. I would like to see if they can make a new figure for the first trilogy optimus, because that's my favorite version and design of optimus prime. What do you think, should they remake the first trilogy optimus prime?

here after the commander optimus has been a thing and i hate it. the commander classes were doing so good with so many underutilized high concept characters and then they just. release g1 optimus again. in the studio series line. i genuinely didn't even know studio series was supposed to be bayverse in its conception, that's how little they've done with it. hell im a 100% certified bayverse hater and i despise what they did with this line on behalf of bayverse enjoyers. concept art megatron was one of the most beautiful toys ive ever seen from hasbro, Ithoblght it was third party. instead they just went the g1 milking route again. give us anything else hasbro please im tired of the same designs over and over again. WE DON'T NEED A 90 DOLLAR G1 OPTIMUS

When Transformers elitist keep saying that G1 should be the golden standard for transformers franchise and anything that deviates from it is an absolute atrocity, just aggregates me. It often feels like, they're not allowed to have their own original ideas. I hate that because it pretty much prevents any new and possibly interesting stories to be told.
