You forgot to mention the 2010 Touareg TDI V6 3.0l R Line . With similar equipment as the R50 but without the V10 and wheel arches. Unofficially VW NA brought around 30 units of those.

I make 40k$ a year. I have bmw 530i msp and want to have b8.5 rs5 for weekend car as In korea it is ridiculously cheap (15k~25k).. but I'm worrying about running cost. I think I'll drive about 5k km/year. Do you think I can afford this car? want to hear any opinion (maintenance cost, future value.. etc)

@@ws7118 the gas will be the most expensive thing most likely. Since it’s a V8. The 4.2 is pretty reliable. But if something brakes and you are not willing to fix it yourself. I’d say put $5k aside just in case anything happens.

@@WinterVR6 hahahaha it was done. Car was wired up and just needed a turn. Chris moved to north Carolina and then decided he wanted to go stand alone…. So he ripped all the wiring out… car has just sat since then. Since he didn’t live here anymore I’m not able to help him.

@ThreePedalGarage Bro the engines out of the gen1 R8 the BYH motor which is a 32v V8....(R8 Dry sump BYH(CNDA) & RS4-B7 Wet sump BNS). Where did you get s4-b6 being the same? It's a 40v V8 for starters... or are all 4.2l Audi V8's the same because of the V block, 8 cylinders & being 4.2l... The BNS engines are put out @ near peak performance for an NA which is why you can't really push more but being forged motors you can just bolt on turbo's or supercharger & go... could you do that with all the Audi 4.2l engines?

Yep you are right they are different I was more going for they are both 4.2l V8 the RS4 motor is a better motor then the S4 motor for sure. It was ment to be if you can’t afford a RS4 a s4 is pretty close to the RS4 but yes details wise they are different.

The rs5 v8 engine was derived from the r8v10 not the rs4

lol that’s 1,000% not true. v8 and V10 are completely different engines. The v8 is the 4.2 v8 which has been found in many RS6, RS4 the v8 R8 and then the RS5. All similar engines just different cams and a few tweaks to make it more reliable over the years. The V10 is completely different.

You can get in older S5. The early B8 s5 had a V8 also. But the RS5 engine is a better built engine

@@sillygoose941 I really like Mike, the owner of VXTunning. He makes a great product and I worked closely with him to help troubleshoot shoot the prototype headlights. He’s a good guy I wouldn’t take it to serious. They are just backed up and I know they have had lots of pressure to get the headlights down.

Yep I agree with you. I just saw a post on Facebook for a 2004 r32 with 125k on it tornado red with clear coat peel and the guy was asking $25k that is exactly the same condition as my R32 which I bought for $5k. It’s crazy how much they have gone up in price in 4 years.
