Building a custom rear center exit exhaust | Volkswagen MK4 GTI

Today we will get Chris's GTI hooked up with a completely custom center exhaust! when I mean custom exhaust I mean fully built from the turbo back! We will be building our own down pipe, mid pipe and rear center exit exhaust. If you know the MK4 GTI you will know there is no room for a center exit exhaust so we had to do some cutting on Chris trunk to get this setup to work lol. Would I recommend others to try this.... well if you have a lot of time and a friend like Ethan then Id say give it a shot. This was Chris's dream to have an exhaust like this so we figured we would make it happen. let us know what you think of the setup. we will be keeping the right angle down pipe and maybe trying some testing when we go to a dyno soon.

lol love the right angle downpipe! it would be funny to see how much it actually restricts the flow. I don't think it would restrict that much but I guess we will see.

i’d guess the right angle dp is fine, unless you running insane boost like 30-35lbs. but judging by the size tubing i’m assuming it’s not a crazy snail 🐌 curious to see the results 🤔

Ya we have a normal down pipe also so it would be really cool to see the difference on a dyno? Does the right angle restrict and creat back pressure or does it not effect the turbo... I guess we will have to see

Well if I hit the dyno and that downpipe makes it blow up then we have our answer😂

@@ThreePedalGarage yeah, seeing the different runs side by side will be interesting. but i don’t think it’ll have an effect. and i dig the right angle as it’s different and sorta art deco 😎 some exhausts factory path underneath the car look like pac-man running from blinky, pinky, inky, and clyde. and my only thoughts on his car so far w/o knowing all the specifics are always do top quality afr and oil pressure gauges w/alarms. protect your investment. be safe y’all 🙏🤘

@@genXcripple yep I’m sure Chris has a few more things that he will need to add into the car currently just trying to get the car driving so he can get it inspected lol then he will be finishing it all up
