Hate the headstock, but now I don’t mind it. Odd that no one complains about the tele head stock. Back to the video, don’t plug an $8,000 guitar into an $80 guitar amp. My James Tyler is coming today! Woohoo!!!

I'm getting a custom one direct through Bogner. I am really interested in this one. It sounds great and looks extremely simple and no-nonsense. Sounds really good too. Would make a great "Guest Amp" for when I have people over. Anyone can plug into this quick and hit the ground running.

This one is a fairly high gain amp so you can get it pretty thick on its own. It does respond well to a boost, but it's not necessary!

In practical terms, how does this differ from the Goldfinger, Twin Jet channel 1, or Uber Ultra crunch? IIRC, the Helios is basically an Arredondo mod with the clipping diodes, so it's a bit of a different animal, but as someone who doesn't know the intimate details of the snorkeler mod, this seems really redundant with a lot of the other Bogner "higher gain Marshall" amps.

I don't know the intimate details either! I just consider it another great choice for the guitarists. Maybe the feel and sound of this one will have its own audience. It remains to be seen as people haven't recieved them yet.

@@RezaMatix I was able to find a schematic for an old "blue board" Bogner modded Marshall, and *if* that's what's in this amp, it's really a pretty unique circuit. Calling it "modded" is an understatement; it's basically an entirety different amp built on a Marshall chassis, and is closer to an Uberschall than anything anyone would think of as "Marshall", but it's also got some pretty key differences from the Uber.
