I THINK there might be another instance of the TTYD theme in the Shadow Sirens battle theme (both versions), just in minor. It's that repeating three note motif later into the song. It could just be similar, but I just noticed it didn't come up. Really good analysis, though, and looking forward to the next part whenever it drops!

You’re brighter than you think. The technical music aspects sometimes went over my head, particularly in the battle theme breakdowns. Music that is extra pleasing to hear and matches the OG vibe makes for the best remixes.

This analysis goes to show the incredibly strong soundtrack of the original game, to be able to stand up in comparison with a remade soundtrack with new music made over 20 years after the original came out using updated instruments. I imagine those who fall in love with the remake will look at the original and wonder why it sounds different, but those differences give us something interesting to chew on. I prefer the more subdued and synth-heavy soundtrack of the original in most cases, but recognize there are definitely areas where the remake shine perhaps even over the original. One disagreement I have to say though: I prefer the old Ms. Mowz theme. The remake sound too grandiose and epic, like the game's saying Ms. Mowz is THE MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTER YOU WILL EVER MEET. When in reality she's an important minor character who can become a partner, significant but not so significant you'd want to pull out all the stops for her. If you took the video game's context away though, the remake Ms. Mowz would be a better piece than the original in a vacuum.

I agree with the soundtrack being way too over bombastic. That was my biggest cretuque. I love the wackiness of the originals soundtracks and it looses the love.
