Hey, I can't help wondering what happened at your family gathering that triggered this video! It (secretly) makes us all feel better if your family is a bit more dysfunctional than ours :-P

A neat summary, brother. If I may add, another principle that we see everywhere in the Course is how Jesus is training us to spot our confusion of levels. One example is the 'secret dream' vs. the 'world dream' (explained in detail in T-18.IX.4), or content vs. form (e.g. explained wonderfully in T-17.IV as a picture vs. a frame). To keep us on our toes, as you know, Jesus switches levels rapidly throughout the text, often in the same sentence. Some examples: -"The ego can and does allow you to regard yourself as supercilious, unbelieving, etc. [the 'world dream'] but not really afraid [the 'secret dream']. (T-11.V.9:1) -"Projection [the 'secret dream'] makes perception [the 'world dream']. ²The world you see [the 'world dream'] is what you gave it [the 'secret dream']" (T-21.in.1:1-2). -"Pain [the 'world dream'] is the cost of sin [the 'secret dream'], and suffering [the 'world dream'] can never be escaped, if sin is real [the 'secret dream']" (W-101.3:2) -"The seeming gentler forms [the 'world dream'] of the attack [the 'secret dream'] are no less certain in their witnessing [to the 'secret dream'] (T-23.II.20:5)" And of course Jesus also regularly inserts what Ken calls 'Level One' statements (God/Heaven/Oneness/etc.).

I wonder if you could speak on the “neutral body”. I guess I’m confused on how I should feel about it. I try to take care of it but then I feel guilt for doing so. Trying not care about it doesn’t feel right either. Curious on your take about our bodies and how we should feel/take care of them.
@acourseinmiracles-applied17 күн бұрын
Happy new year!! I might do a segment on this. Good idea. You can definitely take care of the body and at the same time ask Jesus and the Holy Spirit to help you with the guilt. In the past we all have misused the body to be a thing we can use to hide from God and to play the game of separation. Now that we work with the Course, the guilt that we have pushed into the body, reappears each time we take care of it. This is good news because it gives us the opportunity to have it re-evaluated with the HS and Jesus and eventually let go of it. The song of prayer has a nice paragraph about it: "So now return your holy voice to Me. ²The song of prayer is silent without you. ³The universe is waiting your release because it is its own. ⁴Be kind to it and to yourself, and then be kind to Me. ⁵I ask but this; that you be comforted and live no more in terror and in pain. ⁶Do not abandon Love. ⁷Remember this; whatever you may think about yourself, whatever you may think about the world, your Father needs you and will call to you until you come to Him in peace at last." (S-3.IV.10:1-7)

The hard core answer is yes. But as long as we recognize that our love is but a shadow of a shadow of the real thing we can work toward it without feeling guilty I think.

Dear Stefan, Thank you for your inspiring videos. I value your opinion highly, as it aligns with the perspectives of Ken and Margarethe Randow-Tesch. My daily Course practice involves writing down my thoughts - admittedly, they are often negative - and challenging them with quotes or key ideas from the Course. Recently, several spiritually inclined friends have emphasized the importance of gratitude. Apparently, numerous scientific studies show that reflecting daily on five things you’re grateful for can have a positive impact on one’s life. I find this approach interesting, but it seems to contradict the Course's main focus on "looking at the ego." Since I hold your opinion in high regard, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Best regards from Munich, Matthias P.s: A good video on this topic was shared by Circle of A. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJXFgptuprBroqM
@acourseinmiracles-applied21 күн бұрын
Dear Matthias, I remember meeting Margarethe back in Roscoe one summer. I wasn't sure if she was still actively teaching. I think gratitude is an initial correction for us feeling as a victim and it is extremely helpful to learn the effects of an "attitude of gratitude." However, the main focus after the initial stages of our journey, as you mention, is to look at the ego and in this case our unwillingness to be grateful, rather than trying actively to be grateful. Gratitude will be an automatic response once guilt is out of the way. It can be helpful to remember at times but trying to consistently make ourselves be grateful when we deep down want to give the other person our guilt, will not get us across the finish line. I believe I cover this in the segment about the ten characteristics of God's teachers and their connection to guilt. It's not directly about gratitude but the ten characteristics are very similar to it. Hope this helps. Frohes Neues Jahr!
@IfYouOnlyBelieve20 күн бұрын
@@acourseinmiracles-applied Yes, Margarethe still holds seminars in Germany and Austria, which I enjoy attending. I truly appreciate her competent, pragmatic, and down-to-earth approach. A friend and I agreed that you also display these admirable qualities in your videos. Thank you for your helpful response. I will revisit your video on the "Ten Characteristics of God's Teachers." A grateful attitude is indeed very helpful. In the process, it seems to be about repeatedly looking at the blocks, ideally together with Jesus. Only then can love, gratitude, and forgiveness naturally come to the surface-without needing to "tinker" with it actively. I also wish you a happy New Year!

Thank you Stefan If the tiny mad idea that “I am separate” has no credibility in the first place, then the idea that “I have sinned” becomes not-credible as well. The confusion arises because we are conditioned and taught that “I” is a human being instead of that which is really aware of thoughts, perceptions and sensations. We are taught and conditioned that human beings are really aware of thoughts, perceptions and sensations. That is a falsehood which becomes clear as soon as we ask what is it that is aware of human beings? While it is fairly simple to see that I am what is really aware of thoughts, perceptions and sensations the deeper question is where is our evidence that what is conscious of them is not universal. While there might be 8 billion minds, where is our evidence that there are 8 billion consciousnesses on this planet rather than one? The fact that there is none shows that it is a choice to believe consciousness is not universal. The Decision Maker, as introduced by Ken Wapnick, is choosing to believe in separation and consequently sin
@acourseinmiracles-applied23 күн бұрын
Thanks, Anthony! You are 100% correct. The one addition I would make is that we have built such a seemingly solid defensive structure around the decision-maker that we are currently unable to access it. The decision-maker has made a choice for guilt, yes, but in order to get back to that choice point now, we must go through the guilt first. We can't do that intellectually but only through getting in touch with it and going through it, a.k.a. looking at it with Jesus. The guilt became the defense against accessing the decision-making mind. We cannot simply choose for peace, otherwise we would do it. All we can choose to do is look at the guilt that obscures the place within us where we can make the decision for the Holy Spirit.
@antonylehmann932723 күн бұрын
@@acourseinmiracles-applied Thank you for your reply, Stefan. You write: “The decision-maker has made a choice for guilt, yes, but in order to get back to that choice point now, we must go through the guilt first.” - Is that true? - Don’t we just need to see that we have no evidence? - If we see we have no evidence then we have 3 options: I am separate and therefor guilty, I am oneness and therefore innocent or I don’t know what I am. - The first two options would be beliefs and whichever is chosen will have doubt associated with it. - The third option is not a belief. However, it can be tested scientifically. Am I happier and at peace if I make a choice, at each fork in the road, on the basis that I am one universal consciousness? - As my experiments provide the data, I notice causeless peace and happiness seem to occur more frequently if I choose behaviours based on ‘I am universal consciousness’. - After a while the experimental data becomes too strong to ignore and the pull to experience the peace and happiness again and again leaves the choice for separateness and guilt in the bin.
@acourseinmiracles-applied23 күн бұрын
@@antonylehmann9327 Hey Antony, if you can do it without going through the guilt, that would be amazing. You might have gone through it already. In my experience and in looking at the Course's prime directive to remove the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, guilt is what keeps us from doing what you are already able to do.

This is true. I had this experience of only seeing the light. I wept with relief of seeing how things really were. And laughed at the thought I had ever believed what I had seen before. I saw the face of Christ in everyone even 5hough I had been a real atheist. I thought this new heaven and new earth was going to be experienced by everyone but. Not knowing anything about such an experimental I decided to come back. It lasted several months. Five years later I came across ACIM and could barely read it for weeping with joy and relief. But here I am forty years later struggling with the course. These videos you are making are wonderful and very grounding in where I find myself and understanding it’s mostly everyone’s struggle. Many thanks.🙏

Great video Stefan thank you Understanding in our deepest darkest moments that what we really are is fine in that very moment without denying there is a suffering persona in a dark place apparently present who would have us believe that this persona is what we really are, is the first step. What we really are is being pointed at by peace, love, joy, happiness, compassion. We can know deeply that we are not this suffering persona because what we truly are is witnessing it. That knowing facilitates the examination of the persona who believes he is so guilty and whether it’s true. It’s not possible to be guilty if we are one with God. And what we really are is one with God.
