Thank you, Stefan! One of your best so far (IMHO). ACIM says something like; identity stands like a silent shield before the Truth. Until we are aware that these various identifications are our decision, we seem to be held captive without realizing it.

Can the "faithless" ever be free of the ego on their own without Jesus (God, spirit etc.)? Without owning up to our own guilt can we really make the transition to the real world?

Yes and yes. This is just the course’s very specific framework and language but we all have individual paths and whatever symbolizes love for you can be used for your healing. I think coming in contact with our own guilt is a universal concept but again we all have our own individual reference you might call it any other name, I think.
