Long time ago, one friend of mine was demonstrating his skills with a butterfly knife, so another friend wanted to see it and thought he could show off. Well, first off, the second friend was drunk. Secondly, he'd never even held a butterfly knife before. Third - while we were actively trying to discourage him from it, he grabbed the closed knife, tried to do something - I don't know what - and cut his other hand open. We spent the next three hours trying to convince him to go to the ER, and he eventually went home instead. Fortunately, once he sobered up, he did go and ended up with a bunch of stitches.

I walked into a gunshop and was wondering about the knives they said they had out but they were moving so they were in the back. This guy at the gunshop shows me and OTF Livewire new for $400 LMAO yes $400 and he said because it's black on black, I just laughed knowing there actually around $240. He brought out his knife which was a cheaper assisted opening or side auto I don't remember and I was like nice I brought one of my rare expensive knives with a brand new spring I just put in recently. It was a Protech TR-4 Operator Series with a tritium button and textured handle and I deployed it and explained that these are some of the strongest opening and quality side autos on the market, and he was just waiting to try it. I KNEW I should of told him to hold on tighter than usual he deploys it and the knife comes millimeters from helicoptering out of his hands and I'm just like yea it's not like your normal knives, he knew he fucked up a bit and said "don't worry I'm Mexican" like that makes any sense you almost sent my $400 Protech boomeranging around the room. The point is, the side opening autos especially Protech, are another you don't hand to people.

It was an edc type assisted out the side and the movement was similar to a fulcrum but once you slid one handle opposite of the other handle the knife opened fully. Was only a 20 dollar knife from eBay’s early days. Thank you for reading.

Handed my friend a my Bradley kimura 6. He knows a little about balisongs. What he didn't notice is I use that knife without a lock (lock isnt spring loaded and was beating up my handles, plus it looks better. The bite handle and safe handle look the exact same. Anyway, an attempt at a basic opening later resulted in some stitches.
