This is awesome and I like the white color as well. I had a couple questions if you dont mind. How did you wire in the fuse and power switch? Also have you found low speeds don't work? I currently have one and it only turns once the rheostat/dial gets above a certain level but unsure if thats normal, thanks!

Strange that the caps would be the only thing still in working order. I would think that would be the first thing to decline.
@65CorvetteАй бұрын
Well working order and within spec are two different things when it comes to 50 year old electronics LOL... Some caps die pretty fast while some of those older blue mallorys seem to last forever. You just have to measure and check it out. Unlike out vintage guitars, old electronics just deteriorate.

So it's possible to have seperate circuits in each channel? Are the tonestacks different on each. My tech seems to think this can't be done. For instance, I want to build a Marshall SLP style amp with the lead circuit in the first channel and a SuperBass spec circuit in the normal channel and he told me it can't be done if they share one tonestack. Can 2 seperate tonestacks exist on the same board?
@65CorvetteАй бұрын
Yes they are separate circuits and for sure different tone stacks. However, both channels do share the same power section/supply. Everything is brought together. Fender amps that have 2 channels like a DR or any AB763 have two tone stacks as well and are brought together through the mixing circuit into the power section. This has been around many years. For you Marshall project think about having two circuits independent that share a common power section. I no longer build custom amps like you are asking about as the R&D is just too time consuming and am already VERY busy with the stuff I build. Good luck and I hope this helps a little. Cheers

Mate, the Marshall side is just a way to say "monstruous gain and master volume" or is there some magick going in the tone stack also? Thanks. Your work is fabulous. Cheers, from Brazil
@65Corvette6 ай бұрын
Hi There, The "Marshall Side" is a different circuit on the left channel. The tone stack is a cathode follower as opposed to the way Fender did that. So yes there is a master but its not just adding a master, there is way more to it than that sir. Cheers!

wonderful! I love this sound! When I was a teenager, I got a 6-string Hawaiian guitar from my old father. Today, at 58 years old, I have a great desire to buy a 10-string steel guitar like the one you are playing and play again. I am a pastor of a Baptist church in the city of Campinas, state of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Best custom PR build I’ve heard. Is the speaker a 10 or 12 in this one? Can we order it with adjustable grid bias instead of the original PR bias circuit? Like the DR had (has).

I really wonder what speakers Mike used in his, weber's? If so which ones, which model?
@65Corvette7 ай бұрын
Hey there, the speakers in this particular amp are 2 - Celestion Golds 10" and 2 - Celestion Cream backs 10" - All 4 are 8Ω for a total impedance of 2Ω. I have used Webers in my Uncle Larry amps and IMHO the golds are far superior. Out of the hundreds of UL amps I have shipped only 2 had Webers which were later swapped out by the owners I am told. Cheers

@@65Corvette Thanks Mike, I had a buddy that play one of your amps, I guess it may have been the Tremendous Reverb, I think he said it had one of those Eminence EV speakers in it, is that your favorite now for the blackface stuff?
@65Corvette7 ай бұрын
@@taggmanibanez My speaker choices depend on what amp I am building and what a player intends to do with them. There is no right or wrong choice as it really is subjective to each player, style, and what they want to hear. Cheers
