ABSOLUTELY agree with A1A being the best album. Migration is my favorite song of his, and youre right, that whole side RULES! Ive been to K.W. 4 times but never seen his old apartment and the bar next door. DEFINITELY on my next visit. Im not one to bother people, so i wouldnt disturb Dave, but thats pretty dam cool that u got to see the apartment.

Interesting. Ive been a parrothead since the early 2000s and visited several of the spots you visited but was unaware of their history. I also didnt know he had an alternate name, Marvin Gardens. Ive heard that name in a song of his but never knew of the connection. Being from St Augustine, we also had some really cool old bars that sadly met their fate of demolition in order to make way for upscale and fancier bars and eateries. Sad to witness so many great landmarks gone that Buffett had connections with. Thanks for sharing all of this. Your video randomly popped up on my feed, so im gonna subscribe to a fellow parrot head.

I love hearing about the history of Jimmy's songs. Last year I published my debut novel titled 'Cowboy In the Jungle'. At different times Jimmy's songs entered the novel. His music has a definite affect on my book which takes place in Arizona, Nebraska, and nine different Central and South American countries, ending in Paraguay and a factor why I chose the title and especially since the story is about a cowboy from Valentine, Nebraska.

I'm from McNairy county my dad told a story about finding him the morning his face was shot off and wife killed said he saw his car going down hiway slow and swerving. I asked mom about it later after dads passing she confirmed it she said they saw buford at restaurant one time and he came over to table and thanked my dad. She also said dad couldn't eat for like 3 days after finding him. My grandfather was the city of Selmers first police chief from 1940s to late 50s or early 60s

Good story. Buford was a really big deal. I saw all 3 movies. I'm 63 now and because of the internet and KZbin. I've found out that, there is a good chance he was just as corrupt as the people he arrested. There is evidence that he killed his own wife. And others. So careful who you idolize. Could turn out it was all hype to sell a movie. It was a big movie back then.

There were three Walking Tall films in the 1970s. Joe Don Baker played Buford Pusser in the first one. Bo Svenson played Buford in Walking Tall: Part 2 and Walking Tall: Final Chapter. The Rock did not play Buford Pusser in his film called Walking Tall. He played a character called Chris Vaughn. That film has nothing to do with Buford Pusser. Other than that, this was a cool video.

In the 90s that hotel became the Days Inn Central. A group of us stayed there a couple of times when we were in town for Jimmy's shows. We had no idea he had a history there, but he would have been proud seeing the good times we had. I remember one night after the concert sneaking into the swimming pool in the middle of the night and having a skinny dipping party.
