Many people who actually knew Jimmy, do not recall him with such fondness. I have heard stories of Jimmy owing a lot of people money and things that he would borrow but never replace. I always wanted another chance to see him and talk with him myself . I wanted to cuss his azz fer ruining Key West the way he did, some of us blame him still.

Capt. Tony must have been the role model/mentor of my good friend who lived in the Keys for years. I won't say his name, but he was a real character, having spent some time in a Mexican jail (guns, supposedly that time) but was also allegedly involved in some other shenanigans, some say weed, of course I wouldn't PERSONALLY know. But my friend lived in the upper Keys, had a boat (of course) and even adopted a lorikeet in his later years. (A real pirate, of course) We had some great party times. He passed some years ago, but HE'S the one I always think of when I hear "A Pirate Looks at Forty". And I still can manage a smile😄

I wonder if Capt Tony and David Wolkowsky were good friends. I would have to think they were?
@allthestoriesicantell7595 Жыл бұрын
JB and Wolkowsky were good friends. There friendship began in the very early 70s at the Chart Room. Wolkowsky owned the Pier House and took great interest in Jimmy and his crew. Wolkowsky owned the building at 500 Duval that is now the KW Margaritville. Wolkowsky kept an apartment above the restaurant until his death. There is a semi recent picture of the two of them together - its on the Google. Thank you for watching and the comments!
