Only in gates “controlled” by an opponent - ie whoever has the most fresh ships there. If there is a tie then no1 controls it and you can still slingshot

Can you explain why you didn't declare tyrant with your last card in chapter 2? It looked safe as there was no bidding war in the court.

Tyrant is one of the safest ambitions to maintain control of if you have a big lead - there are no ways to steal them or generate a large number of captives in a short amount of time. When I have a big lead I like to hold off on declaring until the point values are maxed and I think I can gain a big lead. If you declare it earlier you get fewer points and get out to a lead earlier so opponents are more likely to team up on you

Tbh I think that video was a little ridiculous and he’s grasping at straws to find faults in the game - I don’t think there are any major imbalances in this game that can’t be countered by competent play

I won yesterday with Rhombur in Epic mode with Rise of IX in 4 player game X) 14 points next more than three points ahead the second player. I liked the gameplay with him a lot saved many actions thanks to Signet ring, and in mid game having 8 strength as a default thanks to two dreadonoughts was almost safe bet for every battle (especially with early bought Techs with high discounts ).

FYI; Paracompass is always worth 0 persuasion on reveal if you dont have high council. The 1 from swordmaster only counts if you ALSO have high council. Don't get paracompassed.

What are your thoughts on picking up Smuggler’s Harvester to enable Smuggler’s Haven? Definitely important to trash out a Dune the Desert Planet, but that 1 extra spice generation makes Imperial Basin more valuable and that space often gets ignored.

To be honest, I never get this game to the table and your videos are a nice way to experience the game without playing myself. I’ve no clue what’s happening in general most of the time, but it’s fun to listen to your thought process!

I used to join a board game party, where I see someone playing feast for Odin. Me and my friends have tried several different games, and then I see them still playing the same run. In the end it last about 5 hrs? That's so heavy for a board game lol

Thank you for the game! I have only played Shaddam once and it was interesting you did not acquire the sardaukar contracts. Did you know already early on that you were going to be short on spice or what was the reasoning behind not taking them for yourself?

On round 4. Would playing ornithopter for the spice and going shipping first turn, into second turn swordmaster have been a bad play? You get swordmaster a turn earlier and can still use diplomacy, but lose the endgame point. Otherwise great game.

What is the Leader selection method here? Random pool is 7, then 4123 from it in order?

The general method these days is remove 2 leaders randomly and then secretly pick leaders 4-3-2-1
