Such valuable information, thank you! It's great to hear from someone who's been through it. I have been on an SSRI for too many years to recollect. I've tried many times unsuccessfully to taper off, but this information is helpful, amd gives me hope, I'm going to try again to tapper, no matter how long it takes. Thanks again

Just commenting to boost the algorithm for exposure in order to help people who are incredibly confused and being medically gas-lit. Greetings from Vancouver, Canada. Let's get people back to work, back to their hobbies, back to having their relationships/intimacies, move on, and pretend this never happened. That's our only objective: getting our life and good health back. It's just ironic that when you guys posted this video, I was at my 1st of 3 in-patient stays within 6 months because of Psychotropic Pharmaceuticals themselves or acute withdrawal. Yikes. All I saw at those facilities are people with Schizophrenia having their dosage raised linearly & not by a % or another Tranquilizer added linearly and not by %, people having their 'anti-depressant' swapped or increased lineraly and not by %, people constantly eating/ravenous appetite, and just confusion about if they actually have a Chemical Imbalance or not and if they are different than other people. Each and every single time I was there, at least 1 person told me that I don't fit the description of someone typically at these facilities. You're too functional. You don't seem like you have Depression or BiPolar disorder or Borderline Personality cluster whatever disorder. "LOL. I know! Jesus Christ almightly. I'm losing money and my reputation being here! My long-term partner is just horrified and deeply disturbed. Thank you for seeing it!" @ 43:00 the Medical Gaslighting is dumb, dangerous, and is extremely unfortunate, especially when you're in acute W/D and cannot think straight or you're on the Pharmaceutical(s)/dosage(s) and it's causing serious cognitive issues. It's mandatory that Psychiatrists and GP's and whoever other Prescribers have experience being on these Pharmaceuticals themselves and have experience being in acute W/D from these Pharamceuticals. Otherwise, you're just wasting time, insulting people, confusing people, and pissing people off. People need to get back to work asap. Modern medicine's only intention is to increase quality of life. Or keep you alive if you're obese and want to keep living but don't want to do anything about it and want to just rely on medicines.

After 6 years being cold turkeyed Cymbalta by my Doc I still get little “waves”. It’s so disappointing this far out. This time round I believe it was ongoing stress for a few weeks that triggered my wave. When I get into these moods I feel I’m permanently injured. But as like every wave I’ve been through good times are just around the corner 🙏🏻🇦🇺❤️ Love and peace to all going through this crap.

For me, the anger went away once someone wrote in an Effexor W/D thread on SurvivingAntiDepressants that Medical Professionals probably haven't been on these Pharmaceuticals themselves or experienced acute W/D and protracted W/D. I read that a couple of months ago. However, it's still incredibly unethical, bordering on malpractice, and can be lethal. Also, learning the history of these Pharmaceuticals and Diagnoses and Healthcare in general. I had zero idea before, except to blindly trust Medical Professionals. @ 1:30:00 - that's medical gas-lighting. Some may become very hostile, antagonistic, and defensive. But their body language always changes. @ 1:52:00 - it's difficult to medically gas-light someone who has very good self-awareness + is documenting it as it's happening. It still leads to self-doubt, especially if you were raised to be quiet and automatically assume medical professionals 100% know what they're doing, but alas. Also, when you're in W/D, it's difficult to think in general. It's also difficult to think in general while on these Pharmaceuticals. It's just a big mess. I don't think Psychiatrists have malice intent, but they're working with outdated information, and that's a liability. @ 1:55:00 try to get it on @Netflix to increase exposure. They have other physiology-related documentaries. What was the stat? By age 40, 90% of people in some country/western-world have tried a Psychotropic Pharmaceutical. And a lot are stuck on it because W/D was too torturous/agonizing to continue indefinitely (& don't know about social-media support,) not because the Pharmaceutical is increasing their quality of life. Dr Mark Horowitz also says that some Medical Professionals are probably stuck in a chemical dependence to Psychotropic Pharmaceuticals for years and years (despite iatrogenic injuries: fatigue, cognitive issues, etc - it's the exact same story for all of us: our bodies cannot handle these Pharmaceuticals long-term) while on shift. Or they're in acute/protracted withdrawal while on shift. I think I could see it in 1 particular Med School Resident one of the 11 times I had to take myself to the MH & SU Unit of the hospital because of the Psychotropic Pharmaceuticals themselves or acute Withdrawal. Or at least he had the face of "how the hell could this happen to someone? How could someone get so unbelievably messed up in withdrawal from these products that I'm going to be working with?" The look of horror on his face, I'll never forget. Another one had a similar face, too. I suppose my suffering could help future clients in that way. I am incredibly lucky to be alive. So many times. Please listen to humans and don't medically gas-light and ignore proper evidence-based information.

SSSRI damaged me. They worked for a few years. Got stuck and took them for 17 years. Long term side effects and a reaction ended in rapid taper br Dr. Most horrible ever. 1 year off. Neurological injury. Think we have different brains/CNS and they are not for everyone. Individual. I dont say they can work and help others. But there are risks and they are not tested for 15 years. I got more numbed each year and a zombie in the end.

I had looked for a psychiatrist to acompany me on my withdrawal Journey and I was honest of my Former Alcohol addiction( I am off now for more than Eleven years) . Her jaw dropped and she put me into the alcoholic-equals-lyar- drawer. I had difficulties with balance . She did the physically examination and Handed me a prescription for an MRI and put onto this a vocalization disorder which I don’t have. She thought of a damage to the Special Part of the brain( size and shape of a walnut) which characterize my Symptoms as a damage due to longterm alcoholism. I was Lucky enough to get a Date for the MRT shortly thereafter. I could Read the results one day later.A friend of Mine who is a radiologist helped me for specifics and told me I was totally Fine in this Region of my Brain, related to my age. I denied a follow up at this doctor’s Office as I didn’t Trust her any longer I am glad I refused to change Medication while being in a Clinic , it was a gut feeling more than I knew I know now After having watched your Film . I am about to Switch to a Liquid fórmula, at least in Part, as I can’t take one step further by cutting into half. Luckily enough I can do the prescription on my own as a physician. My local pharmacy félt no possibility to get the liquid formula, although it’s available in an Internet pharmacy. Maybe I can get it in nearby France as well, where medication is less expansive than in Germany. As it is so expensive in Germany, you don’t find a physician willing to prescribe it. Health Services don’t pay for it, the one prescribing it would have to pay the difference out of his own Pocket.

I have been on an SSI over 15 years and have tried to taper off two times and was bed ridden. My doctor told me there was no withdrawal from SSIs. I am a year out from cancer surgery so with my various issues being dealt with so I am not in a place and may never be able to come off this crap. Good to see withdrawal has been identified instead of the garbage BigPharma pedal.

I was on 5mg Lexapro (Escitalopram) for 10months. Looking back…my taper wasn’t slow enough at all. 2 years later still suffering. The First 16months, I had endless panic attacks & awful symptoms until one day it stopped. I thought it was the end. Much to my horror, my cortisol had plummeted and then my body started using up my hormone stores…I thought I was going to die. Ended up on HRT @40years (Not peri menopausal) for 6.5months. Saved my life. I have ME/CFS now. Still battling through. Brain retraining, Qi Gong/meditation/electrolytes help immensely. Wish I was given a leaflet with info before swallowing these pills. Wishing everyone the very best of luck x

For long terms users, to say getting off antidepressants is sometimes “not easy” is a huge understatement. It can be utterly disabling. Also, the guidelines you present for duration of tapers is way off for most long term users: at least 4 weeks? You have to be joking! Regarding risk factors for severity of withdrawal: there are more useful predictors outlined in the Maudsley Guidelines on Deprescribing, including duration of Tx, type of antidepressant, and previous W/D history. Otherwise good presentation and thank you for investing yourself in this very important topic.
