Thank you so much for sharing your stories. It gives us all a light at the end of the tunnel. Hope is priceless. So thank you. Has anyone successfully tapered off antipsychotics? I would love to hear some of those stories in another town hall.

Almost killed me coming down off Amytriptilin and Duloxetine, ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks, took months to overcome. 😢 But was never once was told it was the meds . 😢 My blood pressure and blood sugar shot through the roof, brain zaps, no coordination, brain felt like it was dying, then arm went numb, thought I was stroking, but didnt. Got put on Gabepatine, but started having problems breathing, had no idea why, until recently.

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories and information. There's so much darkness around these horrific journeys we suffer that to have this themed discussion is just so important. For me, I'm into my fourth year of tapering off of Cymbalta and six years of having PAWS. I'd been on the drug for 12years before I stupidly (and unknowingly) went cold turkey. (I also thought of Trainspotting. I lasted 54 days. Pure hell. Reinstated but it was too late. PAWS). Now I'm down to 37 beads from approx. 220. But as we know, is very difficult towards the end. I'm basically stuck at the moment. Holding because I still have to function. Work etc. But it's very hard. Physical and emotionally, just barely hanging on. I thought I had a year to go. It may be 2 or more. Maybe 5, I don't know. I also feel like I may never get off. I just know that I need this right now. Some guidance. As I'm basically doing it on my own without family/financial support. (I live in a different state to all family) Thank you all.

Hi AJ. Just wanted to connect with you. I essentially did what you did but it was too late to reinstate. I find the hardest part is depression and insomnia but honestly getting better incrementally. You write well and I could so relate to your difficulties. I’ve often wondered if we could get a PAWS group together for support but how to keep it hopeful……Best to you.

Just finished drawing up a pro/con list: continue withdrawal or reinstate? So encountering this talk was very timely. Thank you all for this dose of hope and encouragement.

Personally I would re-instate. Depends on how long you were on the drug and how long you've been off. From my experience and from what Ive heard from many, most actually, re-instating and tapering slowly is the least disruptive way off. There's no easy and quick solution unfortunately. It's horrible.

@@AJLangford have you successfully come off??? I went through withdrawal a year after cessation!! Reinstatement. Then got off again. 8 months later withdrawal syndrome again!! Reinstatement again. Omg. How do I get off??? I’m so much worse from this Med as I ever was with my mild anxiety before taking.

There's some good discussions on this channel but this is not one of them.

I think Brooke came off as sort of dismissive, condescending, and almost arrogant, particularly in the Q&A. Glad she’s helping to spread the word but humility goes a long way. Everyone else seemed great.

She sounds very proud and confident, and she should be. She went through something unimaginable. I love her advice and very thankful for it. I will buy her book too.
