If you want a big engine, get a vehicle with a big engine. Don't expect something that is semi-fuel efficient to have an insane 0-60. Your reasoning for not getting the vehicle is mostly based on the engine, which you reference many many many times. I got mine for better fuel economy and roomy interior. Is it a Tahoe? No. Does it have the hp of a Tahoe? No. Does it have all the bells and whistles of a Tahoe? No. Why? Because it's not a Tahoe. It's perfectly fine for my daily commute. If you want to know why I bought the vehicle... because I got it for $24,000! Everything you're comparing it to is $10,000 more. Oh, and I have a lifetime drivetrain warranty on it too via the dealership. So, there's that too. You're review is overly biased to the negative side which might not apply to most people looking for this type of vehicle.

Honda needs to bring back their "Magic Seats" that fold UP like they had in 2017. Very clever design back then and nice when you don't want to fold down the rear seat. Magic seats are great for transporting dogs too. Plus in 2017- their FWD got better MPG than the newer versions

There's a lot of mixing the ICE FWD, ICE AWD, and Hybrid model criticism, where they should be separate critiques if the reviewer is being honest. 8 rebuttals, from an owner of a 2023 Pacifica Pinnacle Hybrid (my wife's daily driver): 1. ZF9 on the ICE models is a parts bin German transmission used primarily by Stellantis and Honda, and now by Nissan to replace the CVTs. It got a bad reputation on initial rollout, and still isn't great. Most of the behavior issues (hard shifting, choosing the wrong initial gear, clunking) are the transmission software not playing nicely with the ECU software, and much has been done to improve this. The total failures are largely mechanical, and can be mitigated on a new car by a external trans cooler, a bypass filter (which also cools the fluid somewhat), and periodic fluid changes (though the manual doesn't list it as a maintenance item, because it's a sealed unit). The Hybrid's eCVT is rock solid reliable and smooth as butter. Only exception is when the gas engine switches on during hard acceleration in EV mode. Anyone can get a lemon, and they're not exclusive to Chrysler. My wife's Toyota RAV4 spent over 9 months in the shop her first year of ownership due to manufacturing issues. 2. Hybrid battery issues were due to poor QC of the cell manufacturer, and only affect a certain date range. To assume that they will continue is ignorant at best and blatantly dishonest at worst. At least there's a recall so it can be fixed under warranty... unlike GM or Toyota's truck engines. It sucks if you're affected, but I can't fault anyone for taking responsibility for problems and fixing them. Not applicable at all to the ICE versions. No hybrid charging issues aside from a few isolated failures to charge overnight when plugged in. I can't honestly say it wasn't user error. The fuel tank vent issue that causes it to spit fuel IF OVERFILLED has a recall. I did experience this one, and it was fixed same day under warranty at the dealership. Should not be a problem on new vehicles. 7.8s 0-60 sounds reasonable for the ICE, but whoever came up with this statistic is mixing Hybrid and ICE performance, or uninformed on Hybrids. You need a high stall torque converter to compete with any hybrid or EV off the line. I haven't timed 0-60, but the Hybrid is very responsive due to the torquey motors and eCVT. It's definitely the fastest of all the current minivan models. The ICE Pacificas are tied with the Sienna for the slowest acceleration, and the Odysseys have a granny first gear. The Sienna is quick off the line, but struggles when the underpowered 4-cyl kicks in. If you're trying to track your minivan, I would suggest not buying a minivan in the first place, though. 3. Haven't experienced any infotainment system problems personally. Haven't known anyone who has experienced these problems, either. Online forums are full of problems complaints... that's kind of their purpose. You find what you look for. I do like the user interface and features on the Pacifica. There are a few quirky things I would have done differently, but no glitches so far. 4. The ACC screen is realtime and responsive. The ACC system is also responsive, too responsive, so it does speed up and slow down a lot. It needs some better tuning for high speed driving. There are 2 buttons to activate the 2 different systems, and activating one turns the other off. I don't see that as a problem, but if having 2 buttons is the hill you want to die on, go buy something else. There is one potentially dangerous issue with the Pacifica cruise control. If you press and hold ACC, the car will continue to accelerate even after you release the button. 5. I haven't had to deal with Chrysler's customer service. My local dealership experience has been pretty good, on par with Nissan and Honda, much better than Ford and Toyota, not as good as Mercedes. 6. AWD Sienna is a hybrid, while AWD Pacifica is an ICE. No comparison. The FWD Pacifica gets 22 combined MPG, on par with the Odyssey and Carnival. AWD will always have a mileage penalty. My wife averages 52 combined with overnight charges, which drops to 33 on long trips. Sienna is the only hybrid with AWD, and Pacifica is the only ICE with AWD. Choose what's important to you. The Chrysler 3.6L Pentastar, used in the FWD, AWD, and Hybrid models, has known weak points. The valve rockers fail (creating the Death Tick) and destroy the exhaust camshafts. The oil filter housing is plastic and fails eventually. The thermostat housing is plastic and fails. The heater hose components are plastic and fail. The rockers and oil filter housing are complicated repairs ($200 for metal filter housing, $300 for complete set of rockers, plus a lot of labor to get to them), but the heater hose and thermostat are relatively easy and cheap (under $100 in parts for both) to upgrade to metal replacements. Fixing these greatly extends the life and reliability of the car. 7. Hybrid and ICE should be differentiated here. The Hybrid is much heavier, and has no bounce and a heavier car feel. It's very comfortable. Hybrid also has regenerative braking, which reduces the need for the friction brakes to engage. ICE Pacifica was bouncier in the back, but on par with the Odyssey and Sienna. Carnival is undersprung, so super smooth ride, but more wallowy handling. ICE Pacifica will wear brakes and rotors faster, because it is the only braking system. I have no experience with how long the components last on the ICE Pacifica. 8. Pinnacle has a very nice interior, comfortable seats all around, and a quiet interior only a few dB louder than my Mercedes e320 at highway speeds (45dB vs 41dB). The middle seats in the ICE Pacifica are thinner, because they can fold and stow in the floor. I don't find the middle seats uncomfortable on my older Chrysler Town & Country, but they are less padded. The Sienna is louder at speed because of its underpowered 4-cyl, and the Odyssey and Carnival are comparable with the ICE Pacifica. The Hybrid eCVT doesn't downshift or clunk. It's a CVT. The ICE Pacifica's ZF9 transmission probably does clunk on downshifts (see above). There's no rattle in my dashboard, or any Pacifica's dashboard that I've driven or ridden in. There's also no door sagging, even on my 12 year old T&C, or any Pacifica I've seen. Every minivan has sliding door problems, usually related to dirty tracks and unlubricated rollers. My 13 year old T&C has had zero sliding door problems with just annual cleaning and oiling. My sister's Odyssey has constant sliding door problems since new. The Hybrid Pacificas have linear motor rear hatch struts, which never fail. The ICE versions have pneumatic struts which do fail. They use the highest force struts available, and barely have enough force to lift the rear hatch. That said, replacement struts are a maintenance item, well under $100, and can be replaced in under 5 minutes with no tools. I'm not a fan of the transmission knob, but it had a different size and feel than the volume knob. It also flashes, and won't actually change from D to R or P, while in motion, in case you do mix them up.

My 2024 Subaru Outback Touring XT has 4616 miles, and I needed a jump today when it was 19 degrees outside. Today is Wed, 22 Jan 25, and I drove it last Sunday. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Tonight's low is supposed to be 13 degrees. I'm going to start it each morning when it's below 20, and because it's under warranty I'm going to hope I need to call them every morning. I'll let this forum know how often this happens and if Subaru ever offers to address the issue i.e., pushing cars out the door with a weak battery.

It seems like the only thing people need to avoid is this video. I own a 2025 Trax 2RS that I purchased back in October of 2024. I have put 12,000 mostly hwy miles on it and I think it was an amazing value. The Trax has a great price tag and it's fun to drive in town and on the hwy. I have only ONE complaint and that is the Automatic Engine Cut Off at a stop light. This engine stop feature is sooooo annoying. Chevy please remove this from your vehicles.
