The NEW 2025 Ford Expedition! Best Full-Size 3-Row SUV!
The new 2025 Ford Expedition might just be the best full-size 3-row SUV available in 2025. Let’s take a look at all the new features and crazy tech this vehicle is outfitted with, starting with the new additions to the 2025 model!
New Features
Meet the new 2025 Expedition, with fancy new head and tail lights, a revised grille design, and even some flashy new wheels. For 2025, Ford has completely refreshed multiple aspects of the design, giving it a new appearance while staying true to what the Ford Expedition really offers. In the back, there’s a new two-piece opening with both an upper liftgate and a lower tailgate. This, known as the Ford Split Gate, combines the best features of a traditional SUV liftgate with the cargo ability of a pickup truck tailgate. Three-quarters of the gate will raise like a traditional liftgate, while the remaining lower quarter folds down like a Truck tailgate. This was designed to support up to 500 pounds, even including an available seatback that transforms the tailgate of the Expedition into a serving table. When you include the new power outlets in the cargo area, the Expedition is one of the chief vehicles for travelers who are looking to be able to camp out in luxury using their vehicle. Travel to the interior, and you’ll find a new bi-level infotainment setup, with plenty of new tech features that enthusiasts will love. Beyond this, the Expedition Timberline has now been replaced by the Expedition Tremor, a trim featuring almost exclusively off-road-ready gear.
Engine & Powertrain
Before we really dive into the cabin of the Ford Expedition, it’s crucial to understand exactly what engine you’ll be getting. The crucial standard engine of the Expedition is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that manages to output 400 horsepower. Moving up a level, you’ll find a more powerful version that manages to produce an impressive 440 horsepower. The Expedition now uses an independent rear suspension, perfect for trims like the off-road-ready Tremor model. This model also receives a raised suspension system, custom wheels, and even underbody skid plates. The expedition is no slackard on roads, either, managing to go from 0 to 60 miles in just under 5.1 seconds, making it one of the fastest competitors at its level, especially when you compare it to similar vehicles like the V8 Chevy Tahoe. Even more fascinating, the Expedition manages to tow a seriously heavy payload, rated as being capable of towing up to 9,600 pounds. This means that the 2025 Expedition isn’t only useful for offroading, but can also manage to provide some serious competition when it comes to towing and toy hauling.
