It's so wild how people go through this to record vocals when reaper is only 60 dollars and works great to bounce the 2 track instrumental to it and record over it

Yes saturation is great, also check your overall bass to hf balance, sometimes you might just be lacking low fr content

Great song. It’s good to see someone doing my kind of music using FL Studio and its true capabilities. So much here in a single video.

Do you have a video on how you do vocal comping in FL 24? I like your process of setting up and recording vocals. I’m definitely going to try it. Great video. Got a new subscriber.

The problem with this video is that... you don't actually need to get above -10 LUFS. There is literally no point in doing so. Especially if you have to degrade your mix (By fighting your drum transients, for example).

@@pauliusmscichauskas558 so why is every song on billboard hot 100 going well past -10 LUFS?

The timing of flstudio alone would make me kill my computer. On their sequencer it sucks for lining up vocals to the actual beat perfectly.. reaper is so amazing for the price of 60 bucks why the hell is any of these other daws out there.. i started with sonic foundry acid. And nowadays i would only use reaper.. all the other daws suck to me
@cd123atd4e3 күн бұрын
I cannot believe ppl go through this shit just to record vocals😂.. in reaper u lay the beat as a two track.. u pay 60 one time and then u set ur tracks up with fx on the buses or folders and then u press record.. smh no wonder alot of today's music sounds fucked up.. its cause they have to survive the zombie apocalypse just to record in fl studio
@cd123atd4e3 күн бұрын
How to record vocals into fl studio 😂 u dont silly humans thats what reaper is for . Fl studio is for instrumental production.. only things im recording in fl studio is my bass guitar or my midi keyboard

Once I added the standard clip to my kick it really started to distort in a bad way, I tried the -12db but it was way too crushed, I ended up having to go with -2.4db to have a decent sound to it. Not sure why this happened
@mixwithjerry4 күн бұрын
@@adamfngrace9928 It just depends on the kick sample you’re using. The person who made the kit might’ve already clipped or added saturation to the sample so you can’t push it as hard.

Why is it important that fl's mixer faders are post plug-in? Can I get a little more info or a concept to Google and learn more? Thanks so much for sharing your skills brotha
@mixwithjerry6 күн бұрын
@@markbrotherson if you set your levels with the volume fader then it can be weird dialing in things on the plugins like compression since the plugins are pre fader. If you come into the plugin chain to loud then the plugins also might clip when you boost stuff or add saturation.

GREAT VIDEO! I didn't know what crest factor was so thanks for enlightening. One thing I always do when I can't get enough lufs is turn the bass down. That, in my opinion is the biggest factor for a mix not having enough loudness aside from crest factor.

FL already has the best clipper -- half of these expensive clipper plugins are cheap imitations BASED on the FL Soft clipper so that engineers can use them in other daws ..
