I have been watching many videos about routing and busses but this is by far the best one - simple and comprehensive enough. Thanks man. I would love to see a video about exporting stems. I’m confused because when I export stems it also exports all the bus and send channels and I’m not sure should I keep just the bus and send channels and delete the original ones or what. What to keep and what is the simplest way to export stems and is there something to consider before exporting 🙏 Cheers!

Thank you for the video,it was very informative for me as a beginner. However, I have a question: How do you route a VST plugin like Output Arcade, which assigns different samples to different keys on the keyboard, without loading the VST multiple times, essentially using one VST instance for different sections (e.g., C-F Drums on Drum Bus, G-H Melody on Melody Bus, etc.)? Is this even possible in FL Studio?
@flamersss9 ай бұрын
only thing i’m confused about is, for vocals when we want to add reverb / delay, do we keep the green circle at 100% wet and just control it with the volume knob ?

What does returning the reverb signal to the drum bus do? And would I want to utilize this process?
@TonyZ4922 ай бұрын
So if you have 5 drums that are going to the aux reverb track, and you want to control each of the five drums individual send , the you need to create 5 track with sends , one send for each drum? That would be a total if 11 tracks 5 drum track 1 aux reverb track and 5 send tracks?

wait a minute, im not new at mix and mastering but routing the reverb chanel back to the Drum Bus? for what reason? isnt the same as living it routed to the Master?
@arpaddanos94166 ай бұрын
Great videos. Can you send audio from a mixer channel to an external stereo pair on your soundcard or can it only be routed to Master 2 bus or another stereo mixer track? Are there ways to get audio out of FL Studio besides the Master bus?
@mixwithjerry6 ай бұрын
Yes there is a way. Un-route it from the master. Then on the bottom right of the mixer there is a dropdown box where you can select your external outputs. Then if you need to route it back into FL Studio you would select an open mixer track and in the top right there is a dropdown for external inputs.
@arpaddanos94166 ай бұрын
@@mixwithjerry Nice, thank you

@@mixwithjerry Thanks again for interacting with the comments here. Do you think Image Line will consider a delay compensated external insert, or upping the mixer channel count from 125? Kind of creating a more mixer-friendly environment for FLstudio?

Could you do another for vocals? I’m trying to save CPU 😭
@chyrikas9 ай бұрын
Okay, let's say I have 10 different channels with vocals on them and I want to apply pitch correction on them using bus. After doing it, can I still add different effects on individual mixer channels, or I have to create another mixer channel so all others effects I want to apply would go there?
@mixwithjerry9 ай бұрын
So if you were wanting to apply the same exact AutoTune settings to each of those vocals then yes, you could route them to a bus with the AutoTune plugin on it. The problem with that is if those vocals are coming from different artists who all aren't as in tune vocally. You wouldn't be able to adjust the AutoTune as necessary for each vocalists, but if it were the same artist for all of those takes you could forsure get away with the bus method. You can still add the individual effects on the mixer channels themselves. However, if you had any of those effects being applied exactly the same to each vocal - you could also throw that effect on the AutoTune bus. Hope that helps.

I'm confused about "sending a copy". I've been utilizing send tracks as of late and I notice that whenever I send my vocal tracks audio over to my send channel that has reverb on it, my vocals are now almost TWICE as loud as they would've been without routing the vocals over to the reverb channel. Is this normal? I also notice that with my vocals that I sent to a channel that has reverb, that the vocal channel STILL shows it's linked to my master channel within FL. Is this why it's suddenly twice as loud? Should I only route my vocals over to the SEND section and then have the SEND section returning to the master? Hopefully everything I just said makes sense? Argghh!

Make sure to have your reverb channel low, also make sure the reverb plugin is 100% wet and 0% dry

How do I make the names of the tools to be on top?
@oxtailjazz93579 ай бұрын
Majority of the time when I’m mixing vocals I end up needing more than 10 mixer channels. What I do to work around this is I’ll use up 10 slots on a mixer channel then I’ll route this track ONLY to another empty channel then I’ll continue mixing from there. Does that make sense or nah?

When I route channels it turns the volume way up, when I turn the mixer down the volume evens out but the effect isn't as prominent
@mixwithjerry15 сағат бұрын
If you route a channel to another mixer track then you’ll want to also unroute it from the master mixer track. Otherwise it has 2 outputs, which essentially doubles the signal.

@Dizaotb7 ай бұрын
Can't you just change the mix level of the plugin by effects?
@mixwithjerry7 ай бұрын
Yeah but then any plugin loaded after would be applied to both the reverb and the vocal. If you separate the reverb from the vocal, you can process them separately. For example, if you wanted to add distortion or phasing to the reverb itself - you wouldn’t be able to because the distortion and phasing would also affect the main vocal.
@Dizaotb7 ай бұрын

Wow, that sucks. In FL studio, you gotta create all that crap by hand? Ableton does all this automatically for you...and you can modify it as you see fit
