Heck I'm looking at spending $40 just for a face shield and most of the grinders I see for sale are like $50-60 and not nearly as heavy duty as that one. Surprised at how many tools were there but It's been years since I've been to a flea market.
@floridarusticrepairs6 сағат бұрын
The only explanation I have for why there are so many tools at these two flea markets is that it's a somewhat rural area. I've never seen anywhere else that compares. the grinder was the deal of the day.

Why does everybody collect Craftsman China HOUGIE eagle
@floridarusticrepairs5 сағат бұрын
I admit that I do have a few of the Craftsman China tools I don't collect them or look for them at the flea markets. Only the older USA stuff. I guess it's because I grew up using it and it never failed me. Not that I don't look out for other USA brands but the Craftsman is easier to build sets with.

Thanks for another highly helpful tool maintenance video! Porter-Cable is a tool brand with a glorious past and an ignominious present. This worm drive trim saw is from the last generation of American made P-C tools following the Pentair purchase of Rockwell's power tools division in 1981. Pentair put the Porter-Cable name back on the tools. In 2005 Black & Decker bought Porter-Cable. For some crass reason the new owners decided to make their inferior DeWalt tools their top line of portable power tools. Eventually B&D turned Porter-Cable into a zombie brand making plastic tools in PRC.
@floridarusticrepairs7 күн бұрын
Thanks for the date info on this saw! It's crazy what became of this amazing brand. I don't understand why Stanley/BD would do that either.
@rightlanehog31517 күн бұрын
@@floridarusticrepairs If memory serves me correctly, B&D was heavily promoting their DeWalt brand when they acquired Porter-Cable. It seems they cynically torpedoed P-C to make DeWalt look better. If nothing else, they were consolidating 'market share' for DeWalt. I wish someone would buy P-C to restore its former glory as a preeminent American toolmaker or let it die a dignified death. With Milwaukee, Skil and many others under the control of PRC, the American tool industry is in a shambles. 🤬

@floridarusticrepairs14 күн бұрын
Thanks! Yes, essentially the peg board on the bench itself is a bit difficult to reach since the bench is four feet deep so I just set a lot of it to display. The tool sets at the bottom and the drills and wrenches to the right are all easily within reach and are used. I got the twin tool boxes at an estate sale and in that garage they were under a workbench and I figured that would work for me someday. It took me six months but I finally got them under a my own workbench.

You need to put some beds in for Mugsy and friends, maybe a small rolling cart (a use for the non standard casters) put a food and water section below, a second story for beds (I call them “wireless chargers”). On the side, build steps to make it easier for them to get up and down. Good little project(s). Make it easier and more comfortable for your supervisors, especially as they age . Like 2’ x 2’ x 3’???
