Congratulations on your new work bench. It definitely looks good. Great work.

Thanks! I was just looking at this video and realized that alI the tools I needed to build this were a drill, miter saw, jigsaw and maybe a hammer. Built on a smaller scale would make it even easier.

Nice workbench. That shelf is outstanding. It will last for decades. Looks like the supervisor approved too.

Thanks! The hardest part was flipping it on it's wheels. I'm at that point in the build with the new work bench now and I think I'm going to need some help with it.

@@floridarusticrepairs that’s I was concerned about, we could see you holding your back in the video and that thing would have hurt you if it fell on you.

I liked the build and its always good to use what you have on hand to save money. Videos your doing between tool repair and the shop builds are great.

Thanks! I cleaned out a lot of excess wood with this. So much that I'll need to buy more to build the workbench version of it. :)

Great job on making your own heavy shelving. I purchased mine 2nd hand. And you’re so right it was expensive. And mine had no wheels. Thanks for sharing. 💯👊👍

Thanks! I just finished the companion work bench to this and I had to buy materials for that. About $280 total including casters so it's kind of expensive either way but I learned a lot and had a challenging weekend building it.

Great looking shelfs. Their not going to fall apart. When the other chop saw broke, I thought well there's a future video. Fantastic work bench for a hundred bucks. I can't wait to see all the Craftsman tool boxes you have collected over the years in one spot.

Thanks! I thought the same thing when the miter saw quit. It's likely the switch. It's a weird one with a safety button and a switch which need to be depressed at the same time so one or the other has lost contact. Hilarious that I only got one cut out of it but for $100, I'll take it.

Quite the shelf. I would have inset the corner post in another 1-1/2" so the 2X4s could wrap around the outside of the 4X4 and then bolt the 2 bys to the post in 2 locations at each corner. Not critizing your biild just a suggestion. Thanks for the video

Thanks for the info. This is the first time I've ever built one so I'm always open to some additional info. I built the workbench companion to it last night and I may have done what you're suggesting. The 8' 2x4s are full length across and bolted to the side of the 4x4. The side 2x4s are also bolted directly to the beam. Let me know when that video comes out if I did it your way.

Congratulations on reusing a ready-made and well-equipped work bench which includes the bonus of subject matter for your next tool repair video.😁 Your efforts at a free standing shelf are commendable. In a garage or shed, my personal definition of heavy-duty shelving is - shelving that reinforces the structure of the walls. Have you changed the oil in the Porter-Cable trim saw you acquired recently?

The mini Porter Cable was actually on my bench because I was about to rebuild it. When i couldn't find my jigsaw I grabbed it. So, to answer your question, no. I hadn't done anything to it yet unfortunately but it's slated for rebuild this weekend. Your definition of Heavy duty gives me an idea. This shelf would add a lot of structural support to the building if it were to be bolted to the walls. Thanks for the tip!

@@floridarusticrepairs Readily available Skil worm drive oil will do the trick for your saw. In building shelves for sheds in the past, I have installed them in a way that locks them to the walls and locks the walls to the shelves.

The walls you put in this shop in a prior vid very nice. 👍 Just seems more pleasing and usable long term. Great channel. Note:Be sure to leave wall space for the Rust-Oleum rack of spray paint from the sponsorship that they owe you 😂. I think your channel has moved more hammered finish than any of their marketing!

Hilarious and I agree! They should sponsor me but then again, they don't need to because I'm using it all the time regardless. I'm looking on marketplace now for an old bookshelf that i can use for the spray paint collection. I could build one but it's usually cheaper to just find one someone is getting rid of.
