The Good and The Beautiful handwriting is fun! It's so much easier on the kids that there's a fun activity included in each page.

These are some great choices! Drawing is a fun way to help littles work on handwriting and fine motor.

I agree. Drawing is a great way to teeth handwriting without it feeling like handwriting. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

We used Christian Light's 3rd grade reader which was great, so it is nice you are using the 1st grade version. The Good and the Beautiful's handwriting workbooks were my favorites!! The hands-on history looks great!

CLE is my all time favorite. Up to a point, it got to be too much for our son because of all the worksheets pages, but the richness of material you get through CLE is incomparable. TGATB is fun for the art. Keeps handwriting more engaging. I’m praying the history goes smoothly. Thanks so much for watching. I enjoy all your input!!

We switched from AAR as I found we didn’t have the time and I found one that was working better for my kids!!! My kids prefer the ordinary parents guide to teaching reading and reading readers!!! The spelling curriculum we use has us do whatever works for teaching spelling and uses Flashcards!!! I couldn’t find a curriculum and I was getting sequence one for HBL and we tried the spelling part and it’s helping my kids who struggle with spelling even tho it’s below grade level!!! I have a kid who is thriving in Singapore math!!! We love gameschooling!!! At this age science is just planting a seed!!!

This is encouraging. Sounds like we were the same with AAR. I’ve heard great things about ordinary parents guide to teaching reading. If it weren’t for the fact that we are almost done with the season with teaching reading in the early stages, I would totally purchase it. I like how laid back your spelling sounds. Thanks so much again for watching and for sharing!! Loved hearing your experiences.

what made you choose Singapore primary over dimensions? I’m currently doing dim with my 5 year old and no idea if we should top switch to primary for level 1. I see about half moms who do switch at some point.

Unfortunately we only really have experiment with Singapore math primary and math in focus (just 3rd grade though). Of these two, primary is straight forward and clear but math in focus is not but is quite a thick book. Hope this somewhat helps.
