Yeah it's not the most thrilling addition ever, i was expenting some Wendy buffs. And i do bee queen and raid bosses in general need some changes.

Test was done before yesterday's update which is why gunpowder rounds are dealing 68 instead of 59.5. That's why I didn't use Pure Horror rounds. Enlightened crown + gloomerang would be even worse since EC would add 42.5 damage instead of the 8 you get from the cowl. If you do the math, using the EC would increase the gloomerang's damage by 55+% while only increasing cursed rounds by 50%, which means using the EC would only widen the gap. I don't like to include the EC since it requires constant sanity restoring items which I don't consider part of "typical" combat scenaeios. Scrappy frame's increased damage requires slower firing rate so not really a factor. Animation canceling being fair or not depends on your perspective, however even if you excluded it, a sizeable gap will still exist. Not using the Warbis helm is a fair point. I honestly forgot the thing even existed. Purpose of the video is to show that Walter should at least get one damage option that is stronger than a ranged weapon that's available to everyone.

@@anotherguy3709 Its funny that you call me a "coper" when I joined DST as Walter like 4-5 years ago and out of the 4k hours I have played I spent like 3.5k as him. I can safely say that im the player that cares the most when it comes to seeing a strong Walter, probably from the entire community, I (kroban) made a ton of posts and comments in the forum giving solid feedback, I also know his kit from top to bottom and every single trick there is to learn with him, even niche shit like canceling deadly brightshades attack with poop rounds. And I dont disagree with him getting his dps buffed, even Klei already said that they will, but videos like these make me salty, it feels like yet another attempt to paint Walter on a bad light. Just the fact that this video starts with gunpowder and <Void Cowl?> against a rift item with Void Cowl while doing anim cancel makes it seem like some bad faith shit a "Walter hater" would do. Klei won't buff him over some video like this, but this type of video does a lot of harm to him as a character, because people will still think that hes "trashy". And not using EC on him is borderline crazy when its an insane gamechanger, I would even go as far as to say that its an item made for him considering all his kit.

@@ConfirmFormResubmission For all the other characters in the game EC is "situational", for Walter is a must, like just look at his entire kit, not getting affected by dusk, night, or insanity auras means you get the entire sanity aura all the time, never getting hit (definitely not now with icker) and having a long range attack means its just safe, free extra damage. Hell, even fighting close to trees give him an additional Tam's sanity amount, and trees are in like half the world. EC + Thulecite armor IS Walter's endgame, my point is that this video feels like some bad faith attempt to trash on slingshot, this is supposed to be an "endgame comparison" yet they use slingshot + void cowl (which adds nothing) while on the other hand using void cowl + rift weapon + anim cancel

The transformation isn’t even forced. If you like the area damage more, just use shadow alignment or don’t transform Abigail during full moon.

She can be transformed into regular Abi in new moon it's not permanent

@@newmaker62It’s not useless. It’s an option. Lunar Abigail requires player to manipulate her to kill minions. Shadow Abigail requires player to monitor her hp and keep her alive using potions. I’d say both are equally strong

Yet to use the slingshot to its full effect, icky rounds are strongly suggested. And you get those at the same time you get the gloomerang. So at the same time in progression you unlock the full potential of the slingshot, there is no reason to use it anymore. Amazing.

In your opinion, for someone who wants to fight the bosses but isn't very good, which would be more interesting, the lunar one or the shadow one? And as a base, what skills would be good to level up?

@@Digii62 I believe that Lunar is definitely the case. Against bosses, beginners who use Wendy kill Abigail very easily. With her Lunar version, they would have more chances to take advantage of her Vex, as well as Abigail's own damage. They would also have the opportunity to learn how to maneuver Abigail better, as they would have more time to do so. By maneuvering her, I mean her skill wheel. The negative point would clearly be the Bee Queen, but with her scare ability, you can kill her just like you kill Wigfrid. And to level up, I think it's hard to say, but I would go either with her potions or the skill wheel for Abigail, or even straight to Gestalt Abigail, but assuming you would still kill the CC, then potions or the skill wheel.

@@baron_of_dirt no, it behaves differently to other weapons. If you interrupt the weapon cast, it will reset the charge time to become slower to shoot. It's a tempo thing; shoot rounds, get faster at shooting rounds. Stop shooting; takes time to rev up to full speed.

@@increbidel4685there’s the water can method where you sleep dfly and set some grass tufts next to dfly . Set on fire and repeatedly putting out the fire with watering can. Idk if it still works though

He already has lots of survival perks on his base kit, i wonder if people even played Walter for more than 2 days when they ask for shit like this. He has the best tent in the game and faster healing with half hunger cost, cooks faster, hunts critters with the slingshot, gets tam o shanter sanity from staying close to trees, drying rack is a thing that benefits Walter a lot... Like what do people want, him having a faster rowing perk? Lol

@@Kroban_d4c Sure... and I appreciate him having a good tent, but the cooking perk is also just copy pasted from Willow/Warly yet he doesn't have Willow's ability to fuel a campfire better than others. 'Hunting critters via slingshot' just proves the point that slingshot + tent are his only real upsides. Something similar to the Palm Leaf Hut from Shipwrecked would've been cool to give him as a shelter from the elements that doesn't require sleeping. Despite him entering the Constant canonically with a map and compass, he has no cartography skills whatsoever... oh well, it's not like he's a Boy SCOUT right? He doesn't even come into the constant knowing how to make healing salves or honey poultice? First aid is Boy Scout 101, they could've even locked the till weed salve to him, make it cheaper, and regen health and sanity over time instead of being impractical for any character to make/use. I've tried him, unfortunately he feels like pre-skilltree Wilson with disjointed qol features that amount to very little unique or interesting outside of his sanity mechanic

@@anmspafan7855 what's the "only real upside" to wolfgang? he deals damage. It's the main part of the character. Walter's thing is the slingshot, it's an incredibly busted weapon that people are underapreciating. No one would complain about a buff, of course, but saying things like that is just disingenuous, they completely forget about everything else he can do as if the slingshot was the only thing, and as if it wasn't powerful enough, specially in multiplayer

@@makiatto_ Ever since DST was released, Wolfgang has been controversial because he only has one real upside that's isn't very team-oriented. Having few/selfish upsides isn't a good thing, and definitely isn't common, so I'm not sure why you brought it up. Walter's slingshot has utility for sure, but that's also about all it has. Being able to aggro things for free is nice, but not outstanding. You can out-damage his best ammo with most decent melee weapons, and the new ammos are cool, but ultimately only the aoe glass rounds are practical, and icky rounds are only needed once in a boss fight before switching to melee. Maybe I'm missing something about it, but it essentially seems like a low risk-low reward option if you're uncomfortable with kiting
