It s a video in which the author shows he knows how to instal a dunkirk boiler and makes VERY sure the viewers will not know.

Good clean work. You didn’t put in purge stations on return line from what I can tell, that’s really the only bad thing i seen, otherwise great job

Why are all plumbers stuck on having the circ pump on the supply?!!! I swear it drives me nuts!!! Weil McClain clearly lists two locations on their boiler, you can have the circ. Pump: on the supply and on the return. They will re-pipe the whole boiler to make sure the pump is on the supply!! In 35 years of installing boilers, I’ve never installed a pump on a supply and I’ve never had flow issues! Please stop!!!
@jeffreyjohn2037 Жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter where the circulator is. Just make sure that you have a good air separator.

Bas location for make up water??? Injection should be on supply line after pump discharge to insure air removal from purge station on return line or pump inlet
@tomjohnson11902 жыл бұрын
1) Why change the boiler ? and 2) why not replace each zone valve with circulating pumps.? Very informative video. Thank you.

Whats the deal with the stage 2 heating with this unit? Mine has never kicked into 2nd stage heating even when the temperature is close to 0. What coukd be the issue?
@soyouknowme9582 Жыл бұрын
Verify W1 & W2 low voltage terminals are not tied together and that the thermostat has the ability to run more than 1 stage of heat.

Nice solder job. Question how well does the magnet air separator work? If you have all coper, it should not really have any metal fragments in the system. Maybe some from the boiler and piping.and or cI radiators. Nice job. I
@stevestratton18883 жыл бұрын
After the repiping you did on this boiler you probably wouldn’t even have to purge, the new air separator and pump location would most likely be enough to eliminate any air in the system on its own.

Very nice install. You don’t see a lot of residential installs with this level of craftsmanship! Excellent soldering! I’m happy to see I’m not the only one staying away from pro press 👍🏻

How long did or does it take you to get down below 300 microns with a single zone mini split? They take forever with such small lines.

Why didn’t you go out the left side of the unit and then you wouldn’t have to run line hide across top of window? Looks good not complaining. Also a good video.

Is there a reason why you set the air vent so high?
@moresmores91724 жыл бұрын
do monoflow systems with finned tube baseboards react well to purging or dou you have to vent each baseboard?
@jpheatingcoolingllc.66204 жыл бұрын
It depends on the purging setup and how large the system is. On this system I was able to purge all the air at the boiler because I setup the purge the way I wanted it and the system itself was small. But most of the times on a repair the boiler has a basic purge setup that is pretty useless so it usually requires purging each loop at the radiation to get all the air out.
@moresmores91724 жыл бұрын
Why is the air vent so high on the supply side? Does this increase the effect ?

I Was told to install the Circulator pump pushing into the boiler so it doesn’t see the high heat it will lengthen the life of the circulator.....honestly I think it’s BS because my previous one is set up like yours and it’s 31years old....I see You did it the other way could you explain your opinion on that?

The pump and zone valves are normally better on the return side of the boiler as the water is cooler on the equipment. Good job.
