Love it. Am planning to put a conventional in my home. Everyone is trying to talk me into a condensing boiler and I have heard from across the country they are nothing but a head ache.

Very nice install. You don’t see a lot of residential installs with this level of craftsmanship! Excellent soldering! I’m happy to see I’m not the only one staying away from pro press 👍🏻

Good clean work. You didn’t put in purge stations on return line from what I can tell, that’s really the only bad thing i seen, otherwise great job

Pumping away. Holohan would concur.

1) Why change the boiler ? and 2) why not replace each zone valve with circulating pumps.? Very informative video. Thank you.

Nice clean install. What’s something like that cost roughly?

Nice solder job. Question how well does the magnet air separator work? If you have all coper, it should not really have any metal fragments in the system. Maybe some from the boiler and piping.and or cI radiators. Nice job. I

Thru the years small pieces of iron (he doesn’t have all copper...black iron piping/heat exchanger) circulate around and there’s really strong magnets in those pumps and the metal will build up around the pump and shorten the lifespan

Is there a reason why you set the air vent so high?

why would you use a dielectric union on a Heating return?

Doing a similar project as a DIY in the south; could you provide a components list on the magnetic and air filter parts.

why did you choose this pump compared to 007e ?? thanks for the video. how did you include the storage tank ??

The circulator is sized by calculating total feet of head and how many GPM the boiler requires to have the correct temp difference between the supply and return. The 007 wouldn't be able to move enough GPM in this application. I like to use the mulis-speed adjustable circulators because they give you the ability to adjust GPM later on. In this case, the calculated head pressure was calling for the 0015e to be set on the highest speed, but after a few days the customer called me and said the main zone didn't quite feel as warm as before even though the thermostat was satisfied. So, I went back and lowered the speed to the medium setting to slow the water down and allow it to give off a bit more heat before returning to the boiler. It's nice to have some adjustability.

Why is the air vent so high on the supply side? Does this increase the effect ?
@jpheatingcoolingllc.66204 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't have any effect on the performance being up high, there just isn't any space for it to fit otherwise. The tap for the vent is cast very close to the Supply piping on these boilers, so I bring it up above everything. It's just the way I have always done it.

what is the component wired in just above the temp/press gauge on the outlet?
@jpheatingcoolingllc.66204 жыл бұрын
It's a Low water cut out. They are required by code.

@@jpheatingcoolingllc.6620 Thanks. Do you usually use 120V or 24V power to low water cut out on a Weil-McLain CGI boiler?
@jpheatingcoolingllc.66204 жыл бұрын
@@treke08 I use the 120v units.

I Was told to install the Circulator pump pushing into the boiler so it doesn’t see the high heat it will lengthen the life of the circulator.....honestly I think it’s BS because my previous one is set up like yours and it’s 31years old....I see You did it the other way could you explain your opinion on that?
@stevestratton18883 жыл бұрын
You always want to be pumping away from the compression tank. A previous comment mentions Dan Holohan. Look up the term “pumping away” on google. You won’t get a better explanation than Dans.
@sparky38693 жыл бұрын
That was years ago. Always put the pump on the feed. its harder to push against the tide than with the tide. d
