Taken on your last shape Now, carry these lines through the canyon All these hills will surely wash away All these hills will surely wash away One at a time, the lamps died Left shapes in the dark I can't describe All us sightless creatures find our way All us sightless creatures find our way Underground Great plates that crack and groan And break apart The earth shaking miles below One more living nightmare Born to a world that don't care The truth is always brighter than you say The truth is always brighter than you say But it's your fate You will watch us flash and fade And get torn apart This place wild beyond control Conversations we will never have A scene from another time Flashing by My only person A shadow in the frame Flashing by

Been a fan of Grizzly Bear and DOE for a while. Hadn’t gotten around to this one yet… but it came on right as I was heading to dream land with headphones on… and dang the dreams were vivid and intense as heck. I’m glad I woke up half way through so I could see what album was playing. Otherwise, it could have just kept rolling on to something else and I may have forgotten about it. Absolutely phenomenal album. I love the repeating motifs in unpeopled space / Celia. And I’ll Wait For Your Visit really resonated to some things going on in life. Thank you, Daniel :)

I kinda wish Daniel Rossen was my neighbor, so we could chill by the lake in the evening and have a nice little bonfire. Great song btw

*Daniel Rossen always stands out in my mind when I occasionally get this painful gut feeling, thinking that he might not know how greatly his music has impacted my life for the better. All the tiny moments where I am just moved and the suffering of life is alleviated by his music later gives me a sense of dread that he may not know these moments exist and are of his creation. I think of him struggling to maintain a livelihood and thinking this is all for nothing. And here I am just having my fucking soul obliterated, cleansed, and reformed by his music, and the disconnect hurts my feelings. Like weeping at a painting and the artist is penniless on the streets only to die thinking his work was never appreciated. IT IS APPRECIATED. I have had profound peak experiences listening to Daniel’s music. I remember when Silent Hour/Golden Mile came out, I took mushrooms and blasted it while I laid on a raft in a pool, under the full moonlight watching the clouds rush by. Up On High kicked it off and I had a full blown out of body experience hearing that song for the first time. I was everything, I could not tell where my skin ended and everything else began. I was a stick figure who could feel the paper he’s drawn on to and the table beneath that and the pencil etc. And that was straight up MAGIC. So, I only hope that Daniel lays his head on his pillow at night and doesn’t sweat that his art has improved a humans life out there. Him not knowing is a painful thought with how much i know it.*
