This song is unbelievable. From the Beatlesque intro to the last notes, this song is an indie masterpiece. I have listened to it probably three or four dozen times since it's been posted. Thank you Daniel for being one of the best contemporary songwriters.

Pure fucking magic. I've been a fan of GB for years, and his guitar work has always influenced my style/music I love. Hearing his solo music just makes me appreciate it more. Cheers to you Daniel.

Also anybody who digs the strumming in the bridge part should check out Mac Demarco's band Makeout Videotape its full of those strummy riffs with modal ideals. Just saying.

Not to gush... But I hope Daniel comes back someday soon. His solo music has always been a massive influence me since I discovered him over a decade ago. Meeting him for his first solo show (Neumos, Seattle) is a moment I'll never forget. No one has come close to providing the same feel with music like him. I suppose we'll see what happens in the future.

I hear a whole lot of Beatles in this song. It has been and remains my favorite tune of 2012.

It just occurred to me that Daniel's drumming on this song is very evocative of Ringo's style. Particularly in his use of the hi-hat, but also in his use of the snare. Yet another facet of Daniel's solo work that I absolutely love :)

So Beatlesque or more accurately, Paul McCartney solo circa mid 70s.

I heard this song on WKNC a week ago and I can't stop thinking about it. ".. If I had a chance to see the friends I have love and lost, and begged for their return, I'd dig until I bleed, I'd drink until I rot. I know that's wrong..." Well done!

I won't know what to do with myself if this EP doesn't get the attention it's worthy of. Going on almost a decade of having a library of original music out there, Daniel Rossen deserves to become a more prominent name in music. People like Daniel Rossen or Cass McCombs remind me of a meme I saw recently: Rock Musician: 3 chords, 3000 audience members. Jazz Musician: 3000 chords, 3 audience members. That's not to say they have NO ONE listening to them, but this is music that needs to be heard.

@TheBicycleRyder i'm going to have to disagree with this. a while back i was reading through interview with various members of the band and it portrayed daniel rossen to be very particular in college in terms of who he played his music for. i think grizzly bear has allowed him to enter a public realm that DoE never really gave him the chance to see. i'm not saying that DoE didnt "open him up to the world" or anything but touring the world with grizzly bear must have played a part.

Whoa, whoa, whoa don't take any credit from Ed Droste as far as songwriting goes. Just listen to the songs that he wrote on Veckatimest. He's pretty great as well. They're all pretty great musicians. Chris Taylor is a top notch producer (produced Twin Shadow's debut) and Chris Bear is a great drummer and really gives G.B. a jazzy feel with his drumming. They're all brilliant musicians.
