Lived in Tianjin Economic Development Area (TEDA) for 2-1/2 years. About 150 km south of Beijing. There were several abandoned recreational/amusement parks like this (on a much smaller scale) in the region. Seemed to me like Chinese investors would think, “build it and they will come”. But often, they don’t come in large enough numbers to make these parks viable and they inevitably fall into disrepair and neglect.

This is mutch cooler because i just got back from watching a movie on a supernatural orphanage/childrens home. They call it a childrens home in the movie.
