Beat the game on my first playthrough without even useing rift crystals and wakestones shards could be bought from that 1 dude in checkpoint rest town who can forge shit. Evie is terrible! Evie is a side character who is used to gaslight gamers into pretending evie is a good character or even a protagonist. That's the thing. Jacob is the primary protagonist of the game. Evie isn't even the protagonist, in fact she's not even a twin protagonist in reality. A twin protagonist must be equal to or nearly equal to the other protagonist. This isn't true for evie, as she only has 11 story levels and isn't possible to be the canon choice in most levels where you can choose who to be. There are even cinimatics in the story that directly imply Jacob as the canon character choice for many levels you get the choice. As for the levels you don't get to choose, evie only has 11, and Jacob has just around 24. Jacob has all the important stuff as well, such as the gang, the many templar targets, and it's Jacob in the end who first discovers the precursor site and returns the shroud to where it belongs. Jacob is the main character, regardless of what journos say. In addition to all that, Jacob is a fully rounded assassin by the ending as he was never bad at stealth, and in fact had all the major stealth assassination levels. Jacob's problem was that he was reckless, and he learns not to be by the ending of the story. So while Jacob and evie do need eachother for most of the story, it's ironically Jacob who overcomes this, not evie. The ripper dlc actually contradicted loads of lore and storylines from the base game, and as a result the ripper storyline is barely even canon, due to how much it fundamentally breaks. Where's Jacob's fully grown child who is a master assassin that we know of from ww1? Why even call evie from India at that point? How did jack escape an asylum that closed for good in 1868, yet Jack escaped it after 1868! It makes no sense! I could go on for ages about how unlikely it is that the freedom fighting rooks turned to jack for leadership as well. Even Jacob's actor commented that he felt the ripper dlc was silly because evie historically couldn't have made it to London from India in time for the story to unfold. Ubisoft have tried to erase Jacob's memory. It's all over the youtube and journo spaces as well. Slander that isn't true about Jacob, designed to make people dislike him. Underpaying his role in the game, and even some people outright refusing to accept he's the protagonist or an assassin! The rudest people I've ever spoken online with are evie "fans" who almost always end up revealing they don't play syndicate or sometimes that they don't even like the game! Yet they still feel the need to praise evie unfairly, and slander Jacob unfairly. They literally go on the attack to anyone who says Jacob is a good character, and they've been doing this for nearly a decade! I love Syndicate, but now I can't play it. I've had to stop, because it's so toxic now. We syndicate fans who love the game, of course love playing as Jacob. Jacob is the game's Bayek, and evie is the game's Aya. In fact bayek and Jacob have the same equivalent amount of the story when compared to aya and evie. That said syndicate's story is longer, and I've played them both many times to know. Between the constant slander against Jacob, and the unfair bias for evie, such as adding her to odyssey and the anniversary event video, but not including Jacob, or having Jacob removed from the ripper dlc, I now feel unwelcome as a fan. I also worry that syndicate's 10th anniversary will be used to add evie content and nothing good for Jacob, or to slander Jacob more and further re-write the games history to force evie as a protagonist role which she never was meant to have. All of this has changed my view of evie as well. I used to dislike her because she's boring but that was all. Now I can't stand evie, as she represents every negative experience I've had with the game and the community.

My wife bought me Stellar Blade for Christmas. While dialogue is the weakest in this game due to Eve's lack of emotions, I am enjoying this game as hell due to gameplay and awesome combat mechanics like Sekiro's parry system. Coming from developing mobile games, then making their first ever AAA console game? I'll give it a 9/10.
