This action by Ubisoft reeks of that "Get Out" scene when Chris was the only black man at the party and the attendees were all uncomfortably giddy to meet him. The elites above toss us a bone with more representation in media, while poverty still ravages our communities today. Making Yusuke an MC on AC perpetuates the idea that we should be treated equally when that idea perpetuates poverty. I mean think about it, the phrase 'equality'. What do you think that means to the people most affected by poverty. It's a slap in the face. There is no problem with using Yasuke in games, but this game has exposed the issue of Thomas Lockley's falsification of Japanese history, so the issue of Yasuke has now shifted to that. This is also why a member of the Japanese House of Councilors is investigating. Lockley's book and the anime based on it have spread a wrong image of Yasuke overseas. It is unclear how far the image of Yasuke as an idol like a superman samurai or a military commander has spread, so any depiction that promotes this should be deleted. By the way, in Japanese history, Yasuke is only described in a few lines. There is only a record of him doing odd jobs as a bodyguard and baggage carrier for Nobunaga. That is the image of Yasuke in Japan. If Yasuke was a samurai, he would have been beheaded by Akechi Mitsuhide, but he was returned to the Jesuits. This can be said to be evidence that he was not treated as a samurai. Also, Japanese people would not have a problem with a fantasy story about Yasuke, but unconscious racist depictions of white people against Asians, including Japanese, and black people, including Yasuke, should be deleted. It is unbearable to watch the Japanese being portrayed as servile, and Yasuke destroying the bodies by defeating them and crushing their heads. It clearly shows the mindless racist thinking of the white people who made it. Ubi thinks that the critics are taking issue with the fact that a black samurai was made into a character in the game, but this is completely off the mark, so Ubi has ignored the criticism from the Japanese, assumed that the critics are white racists, and ignored the opinions of Japan. It is only natural that Japanese people are infuriated by this. Also, the unauthorized use of images of important cultural properties in this game is still unresolved, so it will become a problem in the future.

This is the video bro was talking bout on stream 💀(I was the dude that you mentioned it to after I commented about how in the first game our mentor Al Mualim who is actually based on a real person, used the Apple of Eden to summon shadow clones to fight Altair lol)

I wonder if Asmongold or Tyrone Magnus will watch this? Or will it burn to look in the mirror?

Tyrone is wherever the crowd is , if it does good in sales (which it will) he'll praise it being so fake, Asmongold use to be good until he started going on twitter purposely looking up racist shi which is like the HOMEPAGE on Twitter/X then he started turning into a bigot

Asmongold's brain is soup sloshed around by his deranged chat and Nazi KZbin editor, and Tyrone is probably just self-hating or pandering to the anti-woke crowd for easy grift money.

Okay sorry to not play along with the bit but Aveline being Black in colonial New Orleans is perfectly historically plausible. Not all Black people in the Americas were enslaved at that time (some Africans came to the Americas as indentured servants or sailors rather than slaves, some slaves were granted freedom for various reasons, others were able to acquire enough money to buy their own freedom, and some mixed-race people were born free, and these groups formed free African American communities in many colonies. Thousands of free African Americans fought in the American Revolution in racially integrated units!). In French Louisiana in particular there was a system called plaçage, where white men entered into unions with women of color (mostly enslaved Black women, whose consent was obviously not required for these relationships), which were sometimes legally recognized through contracts (though never considered "true" marriage). Interracial children born from these unions were generally free and were often recognized as the legitimate children of their fathers, and entitled to inheritance. Although mixed-race people were not seen as equal to whites, those born to wealthy fathers could often find a position within the colonial elite. This is exactly what we see in AC Liberation with Aveline, whose parents are a wealthy white man and his Black placée bride; she faces racial discrimination in the game, but due to her family associations she is able to maintain a place in colonial high-society (the "Lady" persona). (Also I'm nitpicking the joke but a bunch of these examples are non-canon or take place in what are effectively dream sequences, there are way more canon examples of historical inaccuracy in Assassin's Creed that would work better lol)

So you’ve basically given the case that Yasuke is always plausible. Not all black people were slaves, just 99% of them. The same metric would have been for the black samurai Yasuke. So glad we can all agree to this now, good job!
@SomasAcademy6 ай бұрын
@@gillmsnfillman1691 Yasuke isn't just plausible, he is a historical figure. The controversy over his inclusion in the game is absurd. The reason I'm correcting the record on the Aveline thing is because the joke of the video is sarcastically presenting obviously historically inaccurate things as if they're historically accurate, but Aveline's existence doesn't fit that mold. (P.S. At the peak of its free population around one in four Black people in Colonial New Orleans were actually free (1,335 of 4,108 specifically), though that peak came a few decades after Aveline's time.)

My favorite historically accurate moment in Assassin's Creed is when King Leonidas, who we all know was a REAL PERSON, used his spear, which was an Isu artifact of the First Civilization which granted him godlike abilities, to completely fend off the Persian invasion of Greece and protect Sparta like an absolute chad. If only they added that in the history books.

Yea the historical accuracy argument shit is honestly fucking weird cuz it's a video game!! like what are we doing here😂😂 I personally just don't want to play as a Samurai in an assassins creed game. I want to be a Shinobi and that's it

I don't think anyone would mind a black Samurai if it was an isolated incident. But we've been getting black Egyptian queens, black Greek kings, black English royalty like, up the ass in recent years. One could almost think there is some point someone is trying to make with that. And no, it most definitely isn't about ppl being butthurt about seeing black people in positions of power and agency. Did a single person ever complain that Morpheus was black? Or about Franklin Clinton from GTA V? Hell, did anyone ever complain about Django, killing white ppl left and right? No they didn't. So yes, this is about historical accuracy and pandering

DEI Samurai has a nice rhyme to it 😅. Nobunaga was ahead of his time with his DEI hire. I just watched YellowFlash 2 and his latest vid he admits he has never even care about series. Like The Quarterling too, not played it since II he said. This outrage is fake . Just grifting using their antiblackness. Good thing pre-orders even in Japan looking solid.

The one major glaring flaw with this logic Is that every single character you played as was a completely fictional person that never existed.. In this game You play as somebody that didn't exist but. They rewrite history to make it seem like He was this a legendary figure when he wasn't. He fought one battle and lost. The Japanese at the time didn't even consider him a samurai because if he was they would have made him kill himself when his Lord died Like every single other samurai under odas rule
