Disagree 100%. You’re so focused on a transmission. The difference between 80k and 117k is minimal. 117k isn’t even heavy haul. Guys that have never actually been a heavy hauler may consider it heavy haul. Guys that weigh more than 117k empty laugh at it. 117k can be pulled with a 9 speed if you have a good hand. Width, length and height are very important for you to get comfortable with before you start heavy hauling.

Well done sir. I learned a lot. I'm not a driver but I'm here because I want to learn 18-speed shifting in American Truck Sim. So, if your hauling heavy cargo, you want to split all 9 gears? And if you're empty, you can just do 1-8 without splitting? Is that right?

Maybe a stupid question, but since it wasn’t covered in your otherwise thorough video: those trucks have a clutch like a manual transmission car, correct?
