There's better shallow frost protected foundations or slabs that one can use then the monolithic one you described. Some with exterior insulation covering the exposed concrete above grade and some that dont. If you choose to have exposed insulation the dilemma is always finding a way to protect it. Seems the one of the best ways is to have the finish grade about 6 to 7 inches below any siding and the exposed insulation is capped prior with a prebent piece of heavy galvanized metal depending on the type of framing is being used. The galvanized sheets are heavily galvanized to resist rust and give you the look of a grey concrete finish. They are just wide enough to be below finish grade by about 4 inches or so.

i was thinking about installing a facade on my house. it would be 50 thousand euro minimum and i just don't trust contractors. the household spends only around 1000 euro throughout the year on heating. it just doesn't make sense to invest into the future fertilizer. i'm in croatia and the winters are a bit warmer than estonia. the numbers just don't make sense for such a big investment.

dude, isn't aluminum powder toxic and really bad for you? it can cause parkinsons and other brain diseases if inhaled. some people even advise not to use aluminum based antiperspirants even though you're not rubbing them on your brain. seems scary to me.

Hei, never thought that way. I think it may be somehow toxic while working with blocks. But once it is covered with plaster and paint, it seems safe for me.

The biggest advantage is when using an impact on a ladder. It will not spin in your hand whereas a drill can. And for multiple screws an impact is the way to go. Youre much faster than using a regular drill

I see, no engineer background… your “better slab” is a pile of garbage. Exposing concrete to water and temperature… the concrete is a capilar system, water comes in, freeze, and years go by, and your slab is full of cracks.. Second thing is that concrete slab is calculated for even loads, for example if we need 35tons in sqare meter, we use XPS, C25/30 concrete, and ground should be 30-35MPA Cv2, and all foundation have equal loads and no material crushing in between. I could go on and on… just stop pretending like you know how to calculate, listen to your engineer, and do what he says 😊

I love my 1-story home (USA). It feels very spacious, and it's easier to flow from one room to the next. I use all of my rooms, even my second bathroom, even though I'm one woman in a 3 bd, 2ba ,1 story home. Instead, with a 2-story, people tend to stick to one story throughout the day and do not use all the house as much. I live in a really hot area, so excess heating is not an issue. I hardly use the heater at all during our very short winter. I'm also on a relatively large lot. So I still have a large backyard that is perfect for me.

What is the overall impression of the TM30D model? There are negative reviews on the network (very high vibration, low power, damages accumulators, etc.) I need a renovator, I am not tied to the battery, so I doubt what to take tm30d or tdm50. Will the 30th model be able to handle a 1/2-inch steel pipe, if there is a good nozzle, if necessary?
@MarekKubi4 ай бұрын
Not recommending tm30. It will melt battery slide rails due to vibration. I now have 40v xgt, so am looking at newest multitool to replace my corded bosch.
