Hey there, thanks for sharing! I get ya, and I will say New York, especially NYC is hard to make connections. I’m a native and have lived in the city, in the suburbs and in So CA. I experienced a kind of culture shock when I moved to San Diego and random people at the grocery were being chatty! The city is the complete opposite and you can imagine getting one way in your system to then having to adjust to being open and friendly and god forbid chatty!! Anyway, just know we all go thru these periods when we move to a new place. I think what has helped me is to take each place for what it is. Let it unfold in its own way and time. Don’t focus on the lack of something but see it as you are I. The midst of learning and exploring. I eventually came back to NY and live outside the city and that was an adjustment as well. Now I can say I’m more well rounded and can fit in with different groups! You’re a cali girl adjusting to NY. Hope this helps.

But I found LA to be much more difficult when it came to finding work. I was in TV/ Film production, and LA was cliquey and all about 'who you know'. In NYC if you worked hard you were fine. "An incredibly uncomfortable feeling" - Oh yes, I know this. It almost hurts physically because we are not made for loneliness. When I was younger I moved to Munich to work for a TV station and to have a career there. But I felt so lost, the bavarian people were not very friendly to a woman from northern Germany and I found no real friends. I cried almost every day. After two years I gave up and moved back home. I don`t want to feel soo lonely again in my life. I hope that you will be happier soon! Viele Grüße aus Deutschland!
