@bigboreracing356 no way my l36 would gap a good boosted liter bike! An n/a one no problem! It's mostly oem engine and trans components and still oem ecu! But im building a 1000+whp rb30 in a 2800lb chassis for small radial only! Likely 235s as the current 255 radial world record (another Australian rb powered vl commodore) is pushing far more power than I can afford!

@bigboreracing356 lol probably! over the 1/8th it won't be too strong unless I go turbo400 or similar and big converter being 3L its about mid to top end! For top end pace not many v8s will compare unless they're running some serious hp helper! These inline 6's make hp and on a heap of boost will often lift tyres halfway down the track,obviously racing small engines is different to using a heap of capacity and a heap of rotational mass to launch hard that's for sure! The engine currently is for 600 hp but it's getting built now for much much more!

Torque to yield bolts can be reused. Usually at least 4-6 times. They stretch with use and have a spec in factory manual. My current engine rod bolts are $20 each. Built it second time 2 years ago Still using original 1998 bolts. Snapped a connecting rod I half,but the bearings and bolts were still perfect!!! Got greedy tuning the variable turbo up🤠 42,000 miles in 2 years. And they’re not even close to max size. Usually 4x is the minimum safe numbers of reuse. Same With head bolts!!!
@bigboreracing356
@bigboreracing356 2 ай бұрын
@@4444jdw If the original tty bolts have never been reused then use those to check clearance and use new tty bolts for assembly. If you are building your engine for racing you should use ARP rod bolts and torque those to specs. Record the relaxed length for future reference. Anytime you have to disassemble the rods you can refer to your notes to make sure the bolts are not permanently stretched.
@bigboreracing356
@bigboreracing356 2 ай бұрын
@@fastinradfordable Bad advice. Not all engines are the same. For example, I would never reuse tty rod bolts on modified Coyote or 7.3 Godzilla engines. You may have torque to angle bolts confused with torque to yield bolts. Tta bolts can be reused over and over until they no longer return to their original relaxed fit. Most Tty rod bolts are permanently stretched after one use and should not be reused.
