The Sportster is the best looking bike. A attractive bike, built to catch a man. Mine was purple but after polishing it, it turned blue. Problem was that no girls wanted to catch guys that ride bikes. People started to notice that actually the Sportster is one the better motorcycle. The Sportster became the most desirable motorcycle in the world.

I passed my test with 0 points taking off. Just follow the insructor, be comfortable on the bike. they might yell, but don't bother with that. Just listen to their instruction and you will be good.

Sportsters are awesome bikes! If you're on 2 wheels, you're happy with what you're on, then that's all that matters, and people who diss on what other people ride are weird. Stay safe!

I just spent the day on a rented 2016 Iron 883 and it was a blast. It's narrow and lightweight compared to, say, a Shadow 750, which makes it very approachable, and it has a fun kick of torque available at lower speeds. Here's the thing: It's a VISCERAL experience to ride. If vibrates like crazy (but smooths out for a bit between 50-65MPH), shifting gears gives you a loud, solid CLUNK every time, and the ENGINE is noisy - not unpleasant sound, but you are 100% aware that there are a whole bunch of components in it doing their thing. For a ~150 mile day of bombing down backroads exploring, it's a hoot. I would no recommend it if you're someone who frequently takes longer rides (very comfy seat though). I'll stick with my Shadow 750 Aero for the type of riding I do, but I look forward to the next time I can throw a leg over a Sportster. I need to try the 1200 next!

I grew up on Terminator and have wanted a Harley since I was about 5... They have always lifted something up in my heart, whenever I'd see or hear one. As I grew up I got a little crazy and a little bold but wise enough to wait before I passed my driver's. Couldn't wait for my hog... Than, I remembered that I was still that guy, just a little too fun loving I'd say, so I decided to try a Sportster out... Just to see. Fell in love with it, never even tried a hog. Ten years, still my baby. And I ain't a small one either... 1m90, 110kg. Gonna clean her wheels as I finish typing this, as a matter of fact. To each their own, dig the love.

I have a 2019 Sportster 48 with 14 inch apes. I also had to install new clutch, throttle, brake cable. My question is, since these cables are longer, if I went back to stock bars would I have to get stock cables again? Or would it be fine to have some bend in the cables? Any help would be great

I have a ‘15 Iron 883. It’s the bike I always wanted. No windshield, no radio, no sofa seat. Just raw motorcycle, black with just a splash of chrome. Perfection.

Absolutely PRAYING I passed. This has been close to 2 years of waiting. Today I’ve got the test, and although I’m confident in riding comfortable, I can not get ok with turning right. It messes with my head and I’m so scared I’ll fail because of it. I also totally break under pressure, I’m a total introvert, like even signing up for the course got me shakin. Just praying I pass😭.

Hello mate, Just got off my Fireblade (1994 RR-R) after just short of 20 years on it. Getting old and wanted to just rumble along. Bought a 2018 883 with stage 1 and love it. Stage 1 must be worth the effort 'cos no problems with cruising along at 70-80. If I had wanted more power, I would have kept the Blade. Lois (my Iron 883) is just the ticket for me!

Couldn't give me one. Affordable=worthless. Easy, not as easy as any 400-650 metric. Mod? Buy a bike that isn't so bad it needs mods to make it acceptable. Work on? Buy a reliable bike. Even the Nightster is massively superior in every way. And still embarrassed by a Rebel.

Sportster is The Best Harley

I'm tired of hearing a Sportsters a woman's bike. Well I will tell you the one I use to have wasn't. It was a 1974 xlh Sportster bored.40over and it would outrun the most of the bigger bikes, and it wasn't for a beginners either. It's wasn't a woman's bike, and that's for damn sure. I'm building a 73' ironhead right now and it's not going to be a woman's bike either.

Totally agree with your assessment of the training, which I have completed myself and share the same thoughts. I have been riding now just over a year and like you continue to work on my skills every ride. I even taught my wife to ride and get her endorsement, so now I have someone to ride with. Thanks for your encouragement and the kind words you had for your fellow training mates. I was the same way, encouraged other riders with less or no experience and they passed like me.

I got them installed at HD dealer and they set it on the last preload. I can’t find a chart anywhere regarding the weight and preload settings. If anybody knows please lmk

I think the 883 is the best looking Harley, that and the 48. It’s also a classic, and it’s too bad they don’t have that option any more. In the last year of production, they were gouging you at the dealers, though. Like $12k for an 883.
