50 degrees is great riding weather, lol. I live in the Kansas City area, and it's been in the 20's on my rides to work in the morning. I wear flannel bottoms under motorcycle pants, plus heated vest and gloves, and I have chaps, lol. I know I look silly, but I it helps block the wind. I have a 20' Black Denim Iron 883 getting ready to finish Stage 1 soon, 1st bike had it since March. Love it!

I got my Hammer 1275 kit & pushrods yesterday, I'm doing a Bassani 2 into 1 exhaust, fueling injectors cams and tappets too. I put a barnett clutch in it back in the spring i'll let you know how it works. I like my Iron it's great for my intown needs.

50 degree? in New England we call that summer! The retro paint drives me insane on the 1200, yeah let's throw back to the AMF years when Harley was literally at it's lowest point and putting out the worst bikes. 883's are just great looking. Check out my winter gear vid, it's loaded with cheap options to keep you warm. I dig the sport glide, it's a fun middle ground that's easy to strip down to a soft tail or use as a mini tourer, do it up! I'd look for one a few years old so you can save a few bucks.

Agree on the 1200, not a fan or the retro paint. I'll check out the winter gear tips! I always buy used, new bikes are $$$$ and too many dealer fees!!

Wool socks and some thermals! It’s only 50oF there so just get some wool socks and some non perforated leather gloves. I currently have an 883 but lol I decided to get another sportster, a Forty Eight.

48's are sweet, I'm ordering thermals asap!!!

A 1275 kit is on the "to do" list for my Sporty. Have to shuffle some things around first though. That's going to be a killer upgrade!

You should get a used dyna wide glide and make it fit for you.

So Sport Glides, I’m in the minority as far as liking them. What I don’t like is Harley refusing to put the 114 in there. The 2021 appears to still have the 107 which is starting to feel dated. I’d say def test ride them as a lot of people aren’t impressed with the turn in etc, I’ve never personally rode one though. At the end of the day, you get what you want and comfortable and make it awesome like the sportster.

Was thrilled to see H-D keeping Iron and 1200 for 2021 and also happy I got my 2020 883 at the old price. The 600.00 price increase on Iron 883 seems a tad aggressive. Great channel dude. I rode my bike today in 38 degrees and it felt warm!! I live in Iowa so it’s all about perspective. A pair of thermals under jeans keeps you warm and layers on top is the key with neck protection. Keep up great work and ride safely. Sporty On!

I'm ordering thermals from Amazon asap! I couldn't imagine riding in 38 degrees! Lucky it's rare to get that cold here in FL! Thanks!!!

Yeah, I’m not a fan of the retro tanks on the 1200s or the little fairing. I love the 48! It is a sweet looking bike! That little peanut tank would probably get frustrating though, but it looks so good. But my iron 883 is my baby. Just got 500 miles on it. Get the new PA! That’s my kind of touring bike!

I wear old Carhart insulated overalls to keep the lower half warmer (not at a balmy 50 degrees, but when it gets cold). You don't actually have to buy motorcycle gloves, just heavier work or sport gloves are cheaper. A small windshield would make a big difference for your conditions.

I usually wear a pair of thermals under my jeans if I’m going to be out for an extended period of time. Hoodie, a heavier jacket and a faring make a world of difference in the colder weather.

agree! Thermals are a must, I just ordered some, my legs were numb. My new jacket kept me warm but legs and hands were frozen.

Great video again! Enjoyed watching very much. My thoughts on a second bike from own experience: Think it fully trough - you can only ride one bike at a time while the other one stands in your garage. If your riding is split 50/50 between long distance / passenger and solo city riding than it might be worth it. Otherwise one of your bikes will rest lonely and sad in your garage most of the time and you will end up searching for reasons why you should ride this or that bike this week. Besides that i like the look of the sportglide very much! If i didn´t have my Kawasaki Versys 1000 already i´d be tempted myself.

Rode to work today it was 48 degrees. By the time I got off it was 30 degrees. The thing we do for the love of riding.

It sux! to be cold while riding. Layers works for me. Several of them. Thermals top and bottom. Thin sweater or hoodie and heavy jacket. If you need more than that, turn around and go home.

I agree with you about not needing to upgrade the 883's engine. You barely make any money back on upgrades when it comes to resell value. Better to just trade-up if you want a bigger bike but for me, I want a second bike with a different function (like ducati scrambler).
