I sold my 07 pre runner double cab for $8,500. Mileage just short of 240,000 miles. Actual miles was 239,996. 🥺 Now gotta choose either a 3rd gen or the new 4th gen. Your Tacoma looks great. Sad you had to sell it. The 2nd gen is a different beast of midsize. 😎👍🏻

This generation of Tacomas are really good. So reliable and simpler than the newest models. I had a 2013 TRD Off Road access cab -- was my favorite truck but alas I sold it because of I wanted more cab space. So now have a 2015 SR5 4x4 with double cab and long box. It's a superb truck, just doesn't have the locking rear diff. and A-Trac which the Off Road had.

Same reason I sold mine! The access cab just wasn't cutting it for my uses. Loved the 2nd gen to death, though. Excellent truck!

as someone who currently owns a 2013 grabber blue 3.7 MT82 as my daily I have to say it’s truly a great car as far as reliability and overall being a fun car. It recently got into an accident but I was lucky enough to rebuild it and I couldn’t be more happy of that. such an underrated car for the price you get them at.

welp, here it is in 2024 and after doing a little research, i went ahead and bought myself a used 2013 v6 mustang that popped up in a local dealership. I was in the market for a new ride, it was low-mileage, and well maintained. And I can attest that it IS a fun car to have and drive. I'm 53 years old, and the last mustangs i had were back in the 80's. I was never privileged enough to have a GT, the ones i had were one crappy inline 6 and the other a weak 4 cylinder. And that's probably for the best, because that was the only thing holding a teen from the 1980's back from driving fast 😄. This V6 from 2013 makes me feel like a young kid again! And what's better, i actually have enough sense not to push my boundaries on such a powerful machine (or perhaps i've found my boundaries and know not to get near them). I smile every time i walk out the door to go to work now.

I had two ‘13 mustangs a gray base V6 mustang and a black GT gen 1 Coyote. Had both for the course of 9 years together. I miss both and wouldn’t mind getting another 5.0 once I catch up financially with other responsibilities. Used to watch your videos all the time when I had them. Now ironically I drive a Tacoma too. An 18’ SR5 double cab in silver with 3’ lift from previous owner and 33’ AT tires. I can see why people love Toyota trucks so much. Owned for over a year so far and love the truck to death. I’ve already camped in it and taken up in down mountains in Arkansas. Plan to take it out west eventually.
@GrahamCainАй бұрын
Definitely do! I've been to Colorado and Moab a few times with my Taco(s) and will never stop raving about the experiences I've had! The Mustangs make daily driving a lot of fun, but the endless adventure an off-roader unlocks for you is truly unbeatable. On top of that, I've come to the conclusion that Tacoma's are the Mustang of the truck world. I have a surprising number of friends who owned Mustangs previously that traded them for Tacomas!
@G-DubbsАй бұрын
The problem is all year Tacomas are 4x what they are worth now because everyone is gay for them. 20k for something with 185,000 miles
@GrahamCainАй бұрын
It's unfortunate they're as expensive as they are, but there are good examples out there for reasonable prices, you just have to spend some extra time hunting for them! I'll say, too, that "high milage" tacomas aren't as risky a buy as some other vehicles. I bought my 07 with 175k miles on it, then put another 50k miles on it doing a handful of cross-country trips for 3 years, and the only issue I ever had was a driveshaft bearing going bad, which was a $200 fix. I can safely say that they are solid machines, and that they hold their value for a very good reason!

Overland on a budget is buying a tent and Walmart cooler. We used to just call it, camping.
@GrahamCainАй бұрын
I would argue that "overlanding" as a term has come to very specifically refer to vehicular adventure camping where your vehicle serves the multifunctional role of being an off-road rig and a home-on-wheels. Because overlanding has become so appealing to so many people, I simply wanted to show that it doesn't have to be wildly expensive or complicated to participate; but hey, there's no wrong way to do it. If a cheap ground-tent gets you out there, that's what matters. I'll talk more about the pros and cons of my rooftop tent in a future video, and will touch on why I think the RTT is a very appealing option to folks who haven't done much camping before, or simply who aren't quite as comfortable sleeping in a tent on the ground. Keep an eye out for that!

i can respect the numbers v6's are putting up these days. going back, to the older mustangs, the i6's have been basically gutless yet reliable workhorse motors. Australia fell in love with these and are the only ones to build these motors up. the 300ci i6 they used in the trucks was based off the 200 in the mustangs and it was a bit torquier, ultra reliable. half a million mile engines easy, but they just didn't have the power of the V8s. If you look at Ford in Australia, the Barra is the 6 cylinder ford COULD HAVE made if they expanded down this inline 6 route. They made one amazing engine with the Barra but it never found its way into a Mustang. The thing is though, V8 engines are synonymous with ford. Even from the beginning. Ford and V8, America and Apple pie. They just go together... When the mustangs switched over to V6's for the base models, they were also pretty gutless, V6 accords could smoke them easy. I can respect that V6's now have the power of stock previous generation GT V8s, with better fuel economy, better weight distribution, and an all around better driving experience. Japanese cars in that span of time i mentioned have proven just how amazing 6 cylinder engines can be. The RB from nissan, the JZ from toyota, Honda VTEC V6 in the NSX... All those engines and cars are universally beloved by their fans. It's funny that we can't seem to get that same kind of love from American 6 cylinders. It's just a completely different car culture. America is all about the muscle car, but you can see that is slowly changing... The new pony/muscle cars from the big 3 are looking more like GT touring cars than American Muscle. I think it's time for the paradigm to shift, where smaller, higher reving, less displacement engines can be made extremely fun behind the right chassis and driver.

These hold their value very well. Just bought a 2014 Mustang GT with a 6 speed manual with 61k miles for $22,600 last week. It was the only one of the 11-14 models for sale in my area for over 400 miles. A lot of little stuff wrong with it. Interior dome lights needed replacing, one of the plate lights is out, windshield cracked and pitted, the paint has touch up in about 10 spots but they did a lot of work to it as well. New brakes and slotted rotors, brand new exhaust, new (4k miles on it) transmission, new clutch (4k miles) and throw out bearing, cold air intake. Love the style and the power. Basically a bucket list type of car for me.

In the 3 and a half months I've owned my 07 v6, actual mustang enthusiasts that have complemented me never really dogged on it for being a v6. One night when out with friends one of them was like, "You got a mustang?" I was like "Yeah, it's a v6 though but it's still a fun drive." She kind of glared at me and was like, "Bruh." Of course, I don't take it personally since we're friends, but in my experience it's more non car guys/non mustang owners that hate. I mean, I'm not really a car guy either but this mustang is making me want to learn more about cars/how to fix them myself, and I say that's a good thing.
