They still sell both today... you would think by now gen 2 would be phased out. Over here i woukd say there is a 20% price difference between g3 n g2 Selling both still it makes me ask why pick one over the other. my tyres are a mortal 30" (max legal for mine over ehre) with no lockers.

Wow , I’m looking for wireless charger for my mum’s mobility scooter, she’s doing part time delivery so she use the phone holder for orders. Only thing was the only output was usb so I can’t buy for e-bike or motorcycle ones as their the Hotwire ones and ours is not recommended to open the Li-ion /lithium battery.

Any chance you would know why a fridge doesn't get cold at all, despite the condenser working, the fans working, the coils are clean, and the pipes coming out of the compressor are nice and cold. My temp readings are right on the display, but the cooling never reaches the internal compartments.

Ooo that’s a tough one. I’m not certain. I would reach out to the fridge manufacturer; they would probably do a better job at helping diagnose the problem.

@@NarrowRoadAdventures unfortunately/fortunately they didn't bother troubleshooting it, we did a few basic steps, then it was it needs to be replaced. They didn't make that model anymore, so I had to settle for a much smaller unit. I was trying to see if I could fix this one and come out ahead.

Thoughts on bed treads vs Armorlite?
@NarrowRoadAdventures
@NarrowRoadAdventures 2 ай бұрын
I like the bed treads. Much better than carpet for my needs. The downside is they don’t have floor drains built in so to clean you either have to remove them (like carpet) or shop vac them and scrub while in the jeep. I have just done the latter. I think Armorlite is double the price that I wasn’t willing to spend.

Does it matter if you get XL stems even if your wheels would be alright with the regular stems?
@NarrowRoadAdventures
@NarrowRoadAdventures 6 ай бұрын
I can’t think of a reason why to get XL stems unless your wheel is really thick. They do a pretty good job explaining on their website why you might want them. Having them stick out further than necessary could make it easier for them to catch on something and break.

It depends on the wheels. These are well protected by the ring of my beadlock wheels. The values are 1.6” long from mounting surface. Wheels that have the valve mounting close to the rim edge, I agree with you, and would only run rubber valves.

@NarrowRoadAdventures

Everything we drove were just seasonal roads. We can’t say take this road because many are short and turn into other roads. When we plan our routes we use some map layers on Gaia GPS phone app that show the paved roads vs the non-paved and to plot out our routes. We also look at Google Maps satellite view as a side reference. It takes a few hours to plan out a weekend route but it is fun to explore the areas and route you plan out; it’s part of the adventure. In Gaia you can also use the “public land” map layer to see where would be legal to camp within the forests. Hope that helps. For a Gaia GPS discount, check out our website: NarrowRoadAdventures.com

Nice video! Dumb question...maybe but I visit the manistee as much as I can (3hr drive) and love to camp out of my 4runner. Im used to cherokee/Nantahala/daniel boone NFs from when I lived down in TN. But how do I find these places yall are at!? I feel I always find a very short run to then turn around. I know sxs/atvs have lots of trails but im struggling to find trails to explore/ disperse camp. Thanks for your time and video. Appreciate it
@NarrowRoadAdventures
@NarrowRoadAdventures Жыл бұрын
We enjoy exploring the Daniel Boone! Beautiful down there. Michigan has ORV Routes (“routes” fit road vehicle). Or if you prefer to explore less run areas, as we do, it’s finding seasonal roads to explore. We use Gaia GPS app for planning our routes. (Go to our website for a discount.) Using the “public land” map overlay it also shows where private land boarders are and so if we see a seasonal road goes into a non-public land area then we can usually count on it being a dead-end and route a different way. Takes a bit of planning rather than just jumping on a pre-organized Daniel Boone Backcounty Byway and going but it also aids in the reward of the exploration. Hope this helps!

@@NarrowRoadAdventures Thanks alot for the feedback! Much appreciated. Is Gaia better than Onx..? I've never used either. Just curious. Also if going ORV routes are vehicles (overlanders) frowned upon by the sxs/atv crowd? Wouldn't want to step on the locals norms haha. Thanks again!
@NarrowRoadAdventures
@NarrowRoadAdventures Жыл бұрын
I would say the programs are similar. I have not used Onx. Gaia has always worked great for me and I trust it. It’s also my primary (yet not only) means of navigation for backpacking in the backcountry. SUVs have just as much right to the Routes as anyone else. No one should be upset. Only time anyone has been upset with me was snowmobiles when I was on a shared route with them. I avoid those in the winter now. If you see someone come up behind you fast, be polite and get over and wave them around so they can pass.

How well are the gen 3 using as a bridge ? Do they bend well without snapping ? Thx
@NarrowRoadAdventures
@NarrowRoadAdventures Жыл бұрын
We haven’t had one snap. They bend but depends on what you plan to bridge and how far you plan to take them. They work well in a pinch and for the average Explorer. With our aggressively built rig and the degree we tend to get stuck, we have recently stepped up to USA Action Trax and compare that you get what you pay for. Depends on someone’s budget and needs.

I am getting rid of my Grand Cherokee which had a Smittybuilt X2O. The Smitty is better quality so I want to keep that one and put it on the Wrangler. I will then not have a need for a second winch so the Walmart winch is going to go. It probably would have been just fine but I don’t have any experience with the Walmart winch. I know the Smitty is reliable so I’m going to stick with what I know and has proven itself.

We always carry two recovery methods, a shovel and traction mats as a minimum and a recovery strap for recovering others.
