Great videos! I appreciate you may be wary as it doesn't work for everyone. But I was wondering if you'd consider doing a video on how Harvey maintains his run streak. For example, what does Harvey do if he gets sick etc. I presume he just goes out for a mile but it would be cool to hear about it. Thanks

The outtakes more than anything else are what makes me want to try a backyard ultra. I've been running since the 1970s, I remember the start of the fun run movement, but the level of fun that those events generated has disappointed me somewhat. Now at 67 I'm looking into this new phenomenon quite seriously! I've discovered an annual event that takes place just 10 miles from where I live.

Thanks for the tips. I did my first BYU yesterday and tapped out after 70 miles or 17 laps! My quads were completely destroyed, will be training lots more hills in the future and practice running fast downhill.

@GreenVegan816 I tested three of my pairs and weighed them dry, straight out of the water and after 500m running. Funny result, the cheapest dried quickest. But even after 15m swimming, you don't notice they are wet after 1k running.

Answering for Harvey…..he did. He had shoes ready to change into at Green Gate aid station after the river crossing. Like mentioned by another commenter, you can run in wet shoes and eventually you kind of forget they’re wet but mentally it’s super refreshing to put on a pair of dry ones 👍

What was the strategy with aid stations? Also, any thoughts from the crew, what was their experience like?
@HarveyandKelly3 ай бұрын
I (Kelly) can definitely answer the crew questions. Our experience as crew was unbelievably positive. It is a tough race to crew. There is a lot of areas you are parking and walking to access your runner so we needed to make sure we had a way to transport our gear/bags/coolers etc. If you’re crewing a faster runner you will need two crew vehicles because making it from aid station to aid station with one vehicle could be very challenging.
@kalleleman3 ай бұрын
Was it hard to anticipate Harvey's needs? Sounds stressful to make sure you're at the right place in time. You obviously did a great job! The runners shouldn't get all of the praise 😊
