I’m aggressive but most of the time when I end up in a crash it’s because of someone else (I have reviewed all of my recent crashes and non of them are really my fault except one where I could either crash myself or crash the person ahead and i didn’t want to be an asshole)

Great race man! I can tell after your overtake at 8:53 your adrenaline ramped up. Suddenly you were hyper focused, shredding the corners to extend the gap 😂😂

What's the disadvantage of having the clutch grab lower? Once you're rolling isn't it better that it's locked in? I was under the impression that it would accelerate better when it isn't slipping

Just found your channel Bobby, been lucky enough to drive here in Australia but just short tests. Now iRacing is giving a scholarship with SB to drive in this championship next year. I reckon I’ve got a pretty good chance & having watched your videos from when you did the 3 day racing school to winning races is just amazing & letting me know what I could be faced with. Amazing production quality, channels like this need & deserve more recognition. Great stuff!

I just bought new bearings for my kart like you did and I noticed out of the box they don’t spin very easily. Do I need to grease them before I put them on my kart?
@BobbyKrug
@BobbyKrug 8 ай бұрын
What I typically do is run the bearings as they are to try to burn some of the grease that it is packed with from the factory and then towards the end of the test day or Race day, use a tri flow or similar bearing lubrication.

I could be wrong but Im pretty sure you dont want any play whatsoever on the clutch when you tighhten it. That leads to your crank shaft keyway getting damaged.
@BobbyKrug
@BobbyKrug 10 ай бұрын
I've been running it like that for 7 years with no issues and known people who've ran it like that for longer. You need play in the clutch for the same reason the chain has a little slack, the chassis is flexing in the corners and over tightening it is going to put more strain on the crank and the clutch and will increase the chance of popping a chain.

What Sim do you recommend
@BobbyKrug
@BobbyKrug 10 ай бұрын
Great question! For car racing, I’ve been a big fan of iRacing. The physics isn’t all quite there but the laser scanned tracks is a huge plus, especially in regards to the topic of this video. I remember testing at Mid-Ohio before the repave and the bumps were very accurate to what I experience in real life. There are other good sims like Assetto Corsa and Automoblista, just depends what you’re trying to get out of your experience. As for karting, I’ve heard great things about Kart Racing Pro but haven’t tried it. KartKraft doesn’t feel right to me.

Another great video! Looks like someone has a new subscriber :) Also, I want to make a suggestion for a topic of some of future videos, if you’re interested - team races. In team races with pit-stops and kart switches, like Sodi World Series, cooperation of drivers and spotter/manager is crucial, like when to pit, how to let the leaders pass if you are lapped, or how to unlap yourself if something went wrong. Looking at your channel, it seems like you have a lot of experience with being spotted or as a spotter yourself, so a guide on this topic might be very useful. But anyways, it’s just a suggestion, you don’t have to do anything about it, I just thought that it might be interesting for you :)

Hey Bob, you ever seen someone use the extreme caution sign? I know you've seen some crazy stuff the last few years but has any of it been crazy enough for someone to totally give up their wheel to warn other drivers of something?

Yes but more so in the rental karts than anything else. Get stuck on a curb, kart shuts off; it’s a pretty common signal.

Tip #5 can not be over stated! You don't want to be totally out of your league by going out with too fast of drivers, but you do want to be in a sweet spot of faster guys that you can gauge off of and help you turn your best lap. I put a lot of thought as to where I choose to leave the grid, if I have the choice to do so.

What is this push back penalty nonsense I hear? I raced in the 90's in Florida and never heard such a term, Have we NERFED racing now too?
@BobbyKrug
@BobbyKrug Жыл бұрын
Pushback bumper is a different mounting hardware for the front bumper that will drop and push in if too much contact has been made. Purpose is to police people from driving too aggressive and making avoidable contact.
