Just tried this tonight for a tasting with my son and his fiance tomorrow. I halved the recipe just for the tasting and used a vanilla porter. I had enough batter for one 5" ad one 7" so my husband and I had a little chef's treat with the smaller cake. It was very moist and delicious and rich but not cloying. I hope the intended couple selects this for a grrom's cake.

Hello again, about how many guests will the cake that you made serve? The couple added more guests, I need to make enough cake for 55 people, thank you.
@DancewithLorelie21 күн бұрын
I believe it was 5o ish. The top tier being saved by the bride. The cakes are three layers with two layers of filling. You can get a lot out of that cake. 55 should not be a problem. But it does depend on how you cut it. Just to make sure I would have an extra cake to have as a back up in the kitchen for cutting.

Hello, I love your videos. I will be making a similar cake this weekend and wanted to ask if the pillars can hold both a 6" and a 4" double layer cakes. Any recommendations? Thank you
@CakesWithLorelie26 күн бұрын
Hi Thank you 🙏 and yes the pillars will hold. make sure to dowel the cakes . i use straws and a wooden dowel through the center. Also glue down the cardboard base (the one under the cake ) to the plastic plate. Keep it from slipping. Hope that helps

Hi , l would like to no how far in advance can you make a cake to freeze . Thank you Betty
@DancewithLorelieАй бұрын
Hi Betty. it’s lorelie from her dance channel here. You can make your cakes ahead by a week or two and freeze them . wrap well after they are cooled . You can even put the layers together while frozen if you like , crumb coat and refrigerate well wrapped. then when ready frost and decorate. ❤ i make my cakes ahead more often than not. Hope that is helpful.

Can you please brief me what is a difference between rustic cake and normal cake
@DancewithLorelie2 ай бұрын
Hi it's Lorelie from my dance channel. Basically the titles are for the brides when they are choosing a style. Rustic versus a traditional wedding cake. A rustic cake is something on the plain side. Something more earthy, less fancy than a cake with swags, swirls and and buttercream Roses. It could be textured with a spatula like the one in the video with a few fresh flowers. Simpler in design for say an outdoor country wedding.

Will this work for transfers? How long does it take to dry? Thank you.
@CakesWithLorelie4 ай бұрын
I've used the royal icing for lettering. Do you mean piping onto waxed paper, drying and then placing the dried piece on the cake? If so yes. The thicker the piece the longer it takes to dry. Thin pieces like lettering, I would say give them at least a few hours? Its been a while for me making them.

@@cindys2995 Yes I have many times. I would put the cakes together frozen and or keep the cakes very cold up until the time to set up. I've never had an issue with the fillings getting too warm. I would worry however if the the cake was an outdoor summer cake with no air conditioning. In which case I would recommen to the bride other types of fillings.

This was so long ago now. At the website is the recipe and how many cakes etc you get with this recipe. Here is what it says there. " This recipe make three eight inch layers, three six inch layers and a dozen yummy cupcakes." I was making both cakes and cupcakes that day. So if you are just making cupcakes you would get probably at least 3 or 4 dozen. . www.wedding-cakes-for-you.com/spice-cake-recipe.html

This looks amazing. Cheesecake is my absolute favorite, and none of the bakers around me makes them, so I have to make my own. I am not a strong baker, but I have made cheesecakes before. Would whipped cream work instead of frosting? I've never had frosting on Cheesecake, but I'd like to dress up the wedding cake to make it pretty.
@CakesWithLorelie7 ай бұрын
Hi Yes I believe whipped cream would be a nice alternative. Im not sure however how well it would cover the graham crumbd on the sides of the cake. I guss you'll have to experiment a little and make a small cake as a sample. Good luck with you cheesecake wedding cake.

loreli, i have a few questions, i'm making my younger sisters wedding cake in august, im a ex cake decorator, i only do cakes for certain people but its a small wedding cake the base will be a ten inch, the middle an eight, and the top a six inch, she wants a elegant rustic style much like the cake in this video with white and sage green flowers. my question is would it be better to just take the cake assembled or assemble it at the venue, also how to i transport the fresh flowers and how do i store them overnight to keep them beautiful until im ready to put them on her cake
@DancewithLorelie7 ай бұрын
Hi it’s lorelies from my dance channel. You. a deliver the cakes assembled if you want to.We delivered many that way. Just make sure to have a really solid base under the cake and a sharpened wooden dowel rod going all the way through. the box should be fitted to the base so it doesn’t slide in the box. the box should also be positioned in the vehicle with props around it and or a piece of sticky shelf liner. i have videos on this channel specifically about boxing and transport. search the channel and you’ll find them. your cake is on the smaller side so i probably would deliver it assembled and add the flowers there. flowers can be kept in water in a cool spot or in fridge overnight. keep them in bucket of water until your ready to set up the cake. Hope that helps. i have info at the website as well. books and a video program to show you everything. xo ❤ Happy Cske Decorating
