The carburetor needs to be adjusted not for every tree, but for any weather changes!

Chain was dangerously loose on the Husky at 15:43, totally off the entire bottom of the bar.

Awesome video! Years ago I had access to 100-130 octane airplane fuel and used it in all of my small engines mixed with Lucas or Royal Purple 2 cycle. Never filed a plug nor had a sputtering idle. I’ve never used anything but True Fuel and would never mix my own again. The few times I did (Sthil oil) I had to replace carburetor kit and keep extra plugs. Never again!

So on the 661 the bark box and straight shot aren't the way to go?
@Steelologist28 күн бұрын
Oh man, you deserve a medal for this. I had to subscribe for the sheer effort you put into this test even though I don't believe in pre-mixed fuels. They are a waste of money IMO because the same can be achieved with ethanol-free gas and quality 2-cycle oil.

That saw would probably be scary as hell with a 9 pin and a 24 inch bar.

Beautiful. I just started running Honda HP2, was using Saber, but light duty user. Gotta love a saw that you can pull the jug off with ease !

Poulans I’ve found out like the very high octane. Like the vp, last time I used the tru or a mix I make with 93 from pump it just bogs down and doesn’t seem to get the max rpm

Wrong. Bad info. Don’t spread fake info on KZbin like this. Some people will be dumb enough to listen, then they’ll end up watching “why doesn’t my sprocket have teeth” 😂

The Stihl Moto Mix is the old fuel mix I believe. The new Stihl fuel and Aspen brand fuel are alkylated fuel which is much more highly refined and cleaner burning and ethanol free as well. I think stihl only makes a 50:1 2 stroke, but Aspen makes both 4 stroke and a 50:1 2 stroke product and the cost is considerably cheaper. I think businesses can also order it in 55 gallon drums for any even lower cost per gallon. The 2 largest advantages are shelf life... 2 years unsealed and 5 years in the sealed container.. which means there is no need to do any special maintenance for seasonal storage, just top off the fuel tank and put it away. Whether you need it unexpectedly during the normal offseason or in 4-6 months when the new season begins the fuel is good, you just start it up and go. Which is the 2nd advantage... no repair costs from seal and corrosion damage from improper storage, no loss of time or income waiting on part deliveries, less downtime doing equipment repairs or waiting on repair shops to do them.

My theory is... if the old saws were so much better than they would still be manufacturing them and selling at your local saw shop. Everyone refuses to accept the reality that the brains at stihl are not out to get them and sell them a far less superior product lolol they are producing saws today that are extremely powerful fast and have torque like no one has ever seen before and it's amazing how far people will go claiming the old saws were better... tell that to my 500i built by a mad scientist out of Longview Washington. It's by far the baddest saw that's ever been in the woods x5. Let's see that old 066 compete lol

Motomix is Alkylate fuel it has been distilled and converted to an Alkylate. It removes Sulfur/Aerosols/ and all the real nasty gas smells! It doesn’t stink when it burns. I believe the Husky fuel is also Alkylate, and there is also an Echo Red Armor Alkylate canned fuel. Some of these canned fuels are just pump gas in a can lol. Like the VP and the Trufuel smell.
