Super clean combo, love seeing this dumb boss get owned like this 😎. I really enjoyed the normal usage in this fight. The sword normals to hit Odin into the mine for a reset and the backwards hitbox hammer normal were both very stylish!
@UnlimitedMrX4 күн бұрын
I'm glad the normal chain in the Mine setup stood out to you, as that was my biggest focus back when I originally labbed this boss. 2022 Jakkun is validated. 😌 I also like how much work Hammer forward normal does in this combo. I still don't know *how* it manages to combo after Lunar Reflection > Quick Drop, but I'll take it lmao.

That backwards Crimson Fury gives me chills holy shit… You’re too clean!! I knew this Odin take would deliver LOL You also got to use the cool forward normal attack that I love!
@UnlimitedMrX4 күн бұрын
Hammer forward is the underrated 🐐 and I'm glad that it got to put in tons of work here. I'm also glad that quick drop put in tons of work here for stuff like that Crimson Fury and Lunar Reflection shenanigans.

Yeah, those Chromatus antics were CRAZY! Yeah, the backwards hitbox stuff, but that ZD off-screen was poggers too. But the most amazing thing to me was the follow-up after the Power Swing for the weakness reset! Just blew my mind 😲! Had me holding my head in disbelief, for real. Amazing work this time fren, ya really outdid yourself with this one =03.
@UnlimitedMrX10 күн бұрын
I'm glad somebody pointed out that Zero Divide setup, lol. I highly value the ability to corner steal, so having Heatwave > ZD as an easy "gtfo of the corner" tool mid-combo is very nice to have. It was especially crucial here, since I needed the corner to not be too far away to do my air azure > normal chain after Falling Snow, but I also didn't want to stay in the corner afterwards. Thanks as always, I aim to continue improving :}
@MagnusZero11 күн бұрын
Oh my god. He actually did it... the fact that you actually managed to get a 0 to death off that exploit was crazy considering his bulk. That follow up after the Chromatus was clean asf. Christ dude, you truly outdid yourself with this one, haha. Keep up that momentum!
@UnlimitedMrX11 күн бұрын
What can I say? The second I saw that Gale Fang dodge, I got *motivated.* The spirit of -Vergil- Gaius pulled through to make this happen. I'll try to keep it moving. At the very least, Odin won't take too long to re-record since that take has been cooking for ages now, but I figure Rideaux II won't take too long either before Victor puts a stop in my tracks lol.
@Kikaromi11 күн бұрын
Look at Gaius flexing as if he did anything. Guess a King always has to have lies in his back pocket. When I see Chromatus combos and I'm already wide eyed. Sucks that it's really only useful for casual play where it's a "No more OVL for you brother" or Azure Edge spamlord ggez damage. May the beast that is CS not cause your future boss combos too much grief www
@UnlimitedMrX11 күн бұрын
I sense a bit of animosity towards Gaius in this comment. It's almost like he did something to you personally. Take solace in the fact that he can't reflect your words, at least. 👀 Getting CS to work the way I want it to is equal parts rewarding and infuriating, lmao. The game really wants me to just go full cheese with Azure DP loops or an instant MA nuke, but I refuse. 😤 I appreciate the well wishes, especially since I'll need to rely on CS quite a bit more going forward. Let's hope the funny Power Ranger form can pull through against Victor, because that one is gonna be an experience...

A lot of trial and error. Thankfully RPCS3 savestates came in clutch to make labbing the CS combo actually feasible. When's Bisley? I wish I could give you an answer but I got to get through Victor first before I can even say anything. Let's just say sometime next year, if life/motivation allows.

This is an absurdly clean combo; amazing work! That Chromatus phase is unbelievable... can't believe you did a reset off of CS Power Swing.
@UnlimitedMrX11 күн бұрын
Thanks! One of my big goals with this run is to get as much milage as I can out of CS while still being creative, and i'm glad to say that its performance in this fight is living up to that mission statement :}
@mystearia544112 күн бұрын
your chromatus phase... you only get better with time Jakkun-sensei... jokes aside that was sick and the reset afterwards is so nutty, i cant even imagine. really you have improved so much even though you were already amazing at Luds LOL I look forward to more from you... the Odin take sounds exciting! Then its Victor time...

It feels nice to still be learning and discovering new things with this goofy game and goofy character, even after all these years. I'm glad said discoveries are entertaining for you guys as well :} I'm one more step closer to Victor... I won't lie, I'm a little scared of the hell I'm inevitably gonna go through. But at the same time, the aforementioned improvements and discoveries are preparing me for my rematch with him. It's like the ultimate test for me, haha.
@TailsGt112 күн бұрын
That's crazy you can just... walk through Gale Fang. Im curious to see if that works in X1 now, haha. Big fan of using normals to realign yourself during CS to keep the combo going (then launching as you revert). Despite you saying you're getting tired of human fights, you made this look hella interesting. 🐐 moment
@UnlimitedMrX12 күн бұрын
Something I should add on the subject of Gale Fang is that I was only able to walk through it with Sword Ludger. Hammer and Gun Ludger couldn't phase through him. Idk if any other characters can phase through him, but I'd love to see someone abuse this in X1, for sure lol. Trying to do precise stuff with CS sometimes feels like I'm trying to tame a wild animal, with how it loves to keep moving forward with its attacks and general wonkiness. I'm glad the normals stood out to you, as that was my favorite part of CS to lab. I got Odin next, so I'll definitely get my monster fix before Rideaux threatens to ruin my fun, and Victor...we'll cross that bridge when we get there 😅. I'll continue to try and keep things interesting, let's just hope my mental can hold up through the rest of this arc lmao.

Weak. You cut the part where it showed you out of chromatus and the mook slappin' you with that staff and you dying. Obviously can't beat him normal if you can't in chromatus form =0b Nah, fine work as usual =03. Did you use AE after Hex on the previous one? Could have sworn you did.
@UnlimitedMrX25 күн бұрын
Yeah, in the previous version I did Hex > backstep > Azure > Grand Cleaver. I wanted to fit that Azure into this version, but adding that extra normal attack after Zero Divide didn't give me enough time to use it. I don't think I had the CS duration skills equipped, so I probably can fit the entire thing and more if I wanted to, but I kinda like how concise the chain in this one is - I used Azure Edge plenty in the earlier part of the combo as it is.
@UnlimitedMrX26 күн бұрын
This video is a reupload. If you happened to catch the original upload of this combo, then yes, I really did re-record the entire thing just to add one more backwards hitbox (and a slightly cleaner ender). If not, then welcome to the Jakkun KZbin channel, where being pedantic over hitboxes is a way of life. Notation: X > jump > Air Azure > Fair > Dair > Forward Step > X > Forward Step > jump > Air Azure > Fair > Dair > Air Azure > Zero Divide > X > Dark Projection > Fair > Dair > Ground Azure > Falling Snow > XXX > Edge Crusher > Heatwave > Falling Snow > XX > Hexentia > Sidestep > Grand Cleaver > MA

Kek, imagine folks being amazed Ludger changed from the strongest CS back down to a lower form. Y'all I'd be impressed by the first one-- I feel bad that Endless Waltz, despite looking cool, is so jank thanks to being a huge commitment. Never let AI Ludger use it for that reason alone. But hey, you actually made it work and blend in well as its animation deserves! Although I'm surprised Meteoric Waltz actually got that honking mass in the air. Anyway RIP the goat, and we'll sure see which of us wins Victor first LOL Probablyouatmyrate.
@UnlimitedMrX2 ай бұрын
He didn't downgrade though, he unleashed EL DIABLO, the secret 5th Chromatus form only obtained by mastering his inner chuunibyou and letting the intrusive thoughts win. Side effects may include random muscle spasms in his left arm, heterochromia, and a high risk of contracting terminal 7 cringe. I'm glad I got to give Endless Waltz it's time in the spotlight. It's too cool of an arte to be relegated to just a combo ender. Meteoric has the "weight ignore" property, which is crazy since Rowen's version doesn't have it. This is yet another case of Looger privilege™, but I'm not gonna complain about more options to troll big bodies with. :} I believe you'll get Victor done before I even get to him in the first place. I'm notoriously slow with progress around these parts 💀. Hell, I'd go the extra mile and say you'll be done with the main story by the time I finish Victor; I expect to be labbing him for a looooong time, especially with what I have in mind for him...

Absolutely amazing destruction of Samu's GOAT! The entire sequence at 0:39 is straight up one of the coolest combos I've seen in Tales! The backwards Hammer Toss to push WP into the mine and the Crimson Fury barely hitting the tail hitbox to reset with Squall Shot are so sick. Just a beautiful fight overall :) This is why we wait for Jakkun to cook on his fights 😤
@UnlimitedMrX2 ай бұрын
I wonder how Samu feels about his GOAT being washed, cooked, and having its form destroyed like this? That's some high praise though, haha. I appreciate it, and I'm glad that you and others really like that whole Mine Collapse and reset setup. All the more reason for me to keep up this momentum... I'm gonna have a lot to live up to when it's time for Victor, hoo boy. 😅

Actual insanity. I'm so amazed by how easy you make abusing the hurtbox look LOL Besides that you also make it look super fun... I already wanna redo my take :3 And the hurtbox abuse during your CS was so unexpected (I was expecting the power swing memes) Some of your best hurtbox work yet here, I'm insanely impressed Mr. Jakkun :D
@UnlimitedMrX2 ай бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed, lol. With that said, don't be too eager to rerun your stuff right away. After all, you still got plenty of character episode bosses left, including quite a few monster bosses to practice on. I was originally planning on using the Power Swing meme for that part, but when I noticed just how long WP can go without countering, the gears started to turn in my head, lol. It's kinda funny what kinds of jank CS is capable of when the stars align.

As one of the few Arise defenders out there, I do have to agree with you, at least in terms of combos, arte properties and player expression. That said, Arise has some really neat stuff under the hood, that people don't know about because nobody has really explored that game outside of Muctales and Zeke. I want to do some Arise stuff down the line myself to show some of that cool stuff, but for the foreseeable future, Ludger comes first.

@frubam3 ай бұрын
Once again, some amazing work you puttin' in there =03! Julius gettin' cooked as usual, both figuratively and literally. The reverse hitbox shenanigans were on point as usual. The neutral before the combo was very entertaining too; I especially liked the call out of Azure Edge with Scatter Bolt *chef's kiss. The idea to turn off Assault Step was a nice touch; you don't need every skill in the game to do good work and sometimes it can even be selectively restrictive. One of the reasons I always turn off Jude's speed-up-after-Snap-Pivot skill. And to think, he could have Fallen Snow'd at 0:06, and we'd never have this beautiful fight(I see FS like the sky is blue at this point X0b).
@UnlimitedMrX3 ай бұрын
Thanks as always 👍 My only complaint with the neutral is that he didn't even use FS once. Most of my movements were to account for that coming out, and all he wanted to do this time was spin kick lmao. I'll still take it, though because of the cool moments like the Scatter Bolt vs Azure Edge you mentioned. Between this fight and Muzét, I've been realizing that Assault Step can do more harm than good, esoecially if it woukd allow for the boss to escape an otherwise true combo. I also try to keep as many damage increasing skills turned off as possible, unless I really need it to hit a specific amount of damage or something. Its part of the reason I list what skills (and equipment) im using in the description; I want to show only what is needed to make the take possible. :}

Ah, good ol' Anime Dexter... never change. Though it still perplexes me as to why he's programmed like this when they know he's got one of the most broken Artes as a counter attack, lmao Clean stuff as always, though. That Master Chef threw me off guard big time, and yet, it was so well placed. Dexter getting cooked literally will never not be funny. But it looks like you went all in on the backwards hitbox shenanigans this time. The sheer number of chains you can do while backwards is crazy. I always like your use of Swift Strike, as it reminds me of DMC4/5 Vergil Devil Trigger combos where we purposefully whiff stinger above or beneath the enemy for proper positioning. Continue living up to the Funni Hitbox Man title, bro.
@UnlimitedMrX3 ай бұрын
The funny thing is that he never used Falling Snow once in this take. The man kept that broken arte in his pocket and instead chose to spin kick 5 times 😂 Had to send Dexter back to the lab where he belongs after all that. I'm glad the Swift Strike sideswaps caught your eye too, those were some of the most fun parts of this combo for me in just how fast/precise they can be. Though to be compared to the GOAT Vergil himself, that's motivating to say the least. I'm gonna continue to hold that title with pride 🫡

@ViktorForslund4 ай бұрын
No worries about the reupload, just gave me a great reason to watch this banger take again! There are too many neat moments to point out without turning this into a wall of text so I'll point out a few that made me Pog The Falling Thunder into the Mine Collapse explosion was really cool, and the Armor Crusher > Time Disintegration PC reset after was really cool, you don't see TD being used all that often lol Also the full-range Falling Snow AC reset is always so good whenever I see it, the end of the arte and the little AC recovery *tink* are so damn close together it's almost an instant reset and it's just great. idk if it was intentional or not but the final hit of Earth Spike being outside of the Power Combo and still killing was so disrespectful, I loved it lol
@UnlimitedMrX4 ай бұрын
Based Vik, I'm glad someone noticed the Earth Spike finisher not being part of the power combo lmao. Even more than that, Rideaux resists Earth, so I ended up killing him with something that does half damage and would've left me wide open if it didn't kill. 😂 The other moments you mentioned were also moments that stood out to me when making this take, so I'm glad you liked those too! TD is another one of those artes that doesn't work that well outside of combo enders due to the launching knockdown, but if you weapon swap right afterwards, it suddenly becomes combo viable (so long as you don't hit the OTG limit or have to deal with knockdown RNG shenanigans...)
