[Xillia 2] Ludger Solo: Fractured Muzét

Please read this comment before you go. No, I haven't actually started Arc 2 yet lol, but I wanted to end off the year by posting something. Of the takes I have on me, Muzét is the only one I intend to remake again and change before I start putting out vids proper again. I figured that instead of throwing this take in the trash, I'd put it up, in part to serve as a placeholder, but also to give you guys something to break the silence a little bit. Some things I would like to fix up/change in this take would include: 1. Better counter RNG during the CS phase, because Flame Ring is boring and makes me die inside 2. A cleaner conversion from Hexentia > Requiem as CS ends (this can easily be solved by just setting Guns to the default weapon before battle) 3. A more fleshed out combo post-reset. Potentially ending the fight on a CS1 finisher should the combo last long enough maybe??? I'm very confident that 2024 will be the year when I knock this run out, the way I want it to be done. And as always, I thank you guys for your patience, its far more than I deserve. But with that said, I''m gonna send off the year with this. Here's to 2024!

Black Tar works super well here LOL Good to see a video from you! Your Ludger only improves! Your Bubble Blasts were really really nice to watch I always find setting up lingering projectiles for later to be super cool to see. The Flame Ring counters looked super annoying, hopefully in the next takes things get better for you RNG wise. Either way great take Jakkun! I look forward to more!

The trick with Black Tar is to finish the battle before the meme lyrics come up 😂 Thanks, I actually really like the Bubble Blast used during the Mine Collapse setup as well. Not only was it needed to actually make the Mine actually work, but using Sparrows > (hold) Bubble Blast also prevented Muzét from teching in that moment. Bubble setups are something I'm trying to improve at and utilize more, so I'm glad that stuck out to you. That reset is pretty tight but I just had to go for it lol, it's not every day when I can run up with Falling Thunder from fullscreen and just go off lmao.

@@UnlimitedMrX Reset in general after expending all elemental attributes. Afaik the best strat to start over again is to knock the boss down and get them back up with an OTG Arte followed by a quick Arte of different attribute. But i never really know where to start unless i see some examples.

​@@AbstractReplayerYou got the right idea. From what you're describing it sounds like a matter of timing more than anything. I'd say just keep an eye on the OTG limit while you're doing your combo, and also plan around having a *hard knockdown* at the end of your combo. In Ludger’s case, he can easily just throw Hungry Hunter or a down normal out quickly as the power combo gauge is depleting. Flame Tunnel is a rather lengthy arte that can be used if you need to burn more time at the end of the combo. Ludger specifically can also get away with other, less safe knockdowns like Heatwave and Master Chef thanks to weapon swapping. But in your case, I'd stick with the guaranteed hard knockdowns just to stay on the safe side while you're labbing. Regarding the OTG limit, just remember that you can only knock down the enemy (and have them touch the ground) twice before they get their Iron Stance back the 3rd time onwards, effectively stopping your combo in your tracks. So if you're new to resets, I'd try to hold off on knocking an enemy down more than once before the end just so you have a fresh OTG available when you need it. Some bosses, like Ivar Julius, and Rideaux 1, have no Iron Stance and effectively have no OTG limit, so they make great punching bags for combo practice. When it's time to actually reset the combo, try to start your new Power Combo with a single hit Arte if possible. Elemental Weapons are also your best friends here. Also, remember that you can let a weakness combo die out at a lower multiplier and reset from there. You don't always have to hit max weakness. Its not always about damage optimization, just being able to extend your combo at all is a huge skill that will benefit you at all levels of play. My Fractured Julius vid has a good example of resetting early in a combo to keep a frail boss alive for a little longer. I'm not sure if I was able to address the specific issue you have, but I hope these tips help!

Yeah I really like the amount of player expression that Ludger allows. Some people prefer bubble setups and air combo chains, I'm more partial to Mine Collapse and backwards hitboxes. But the important part is that every playstyle is valid, and Ludger has the tools to make anything work. Neutral in X2 has been something I've wanted to focus on ever since I started playing Ludger all those years ago. X2 has a reputation for being the big 1 combo kill game (and it is) but I like to take the opportunities when it's there to try and have a bit of an exchange with the boss. They don't always cooperate, but when the Looger footsies hit just right, it feels great. 😩👌

Yeah it sucks but that's how it is sometimes! It's still really cool you're able to express yourself in that way! In a thousand years, maybe I'll finally sit down and learn this game proper. It's a gamey ass video game.
