Well it looks like the USA won the Battle of Britain as well! With 130 octane fuel😬

Just because some things are possible, doesn't mean to should do them. I loathe this vile abortion. A very sick mind came up with this. No airplane should have to suffer such an indignity.

Note: All of the horse power figures for WW 2 fighter engines are given using the Aviation fuel from the USA and was 130 Octane fuel. Until these engines used 130 octane fuel the horse power was much less. All of the 130 octane fuel was from the USA and not produced in England. That is what gave the RR Merlin's there power.

That is genius, What's her top speed?
@DrBearAviation2 күн бұрын
Her top speed is around 250 mile/hour. A Yak-55M has a top speed of around 190 mile/hour. I believe the major purpose of constructing this plane is to take advantage of its excessive thrust (thrust to weight ratio is well above 1) to achieve maneuvers otherwise impossible, instead of pursuing fast speed. In addition, I guess that its top speed of 250 mile/hour is dictated by its structure strength instead of being limited by power.

Why would the gear come down so early, is it to help with speed management on the descent ?
@Starvaze2 күн бұрын
Something the aviation industry likes to call "speed drag" basically. Because the wheels are flipping heavy. It naturally pulls the plane down. But keep in mind the plane is still going at a safe flying speed. In order to counter this. F4 must be applied. That way the aircraft is now in landing. To answer your question it's to withdraw drag from glide slope. I hope I haven't melted your brain

Shouldn’t the props be rotating in opposite directions?
@DrBearAviation2 күн бұрын
It is born by fusing two Yak 55s together ( and adding a jet engine). It will be too much extra work to revise one engine to rotate in the opposite direction. Two engines rotating in opposite directions might bring handling benefits, but you could find many twins with two engines spinning in the same direction (this way, you only need to store and look after one type of engine, instead of two types). A properly trained pilots should easily handle two engines of the same rotation direction.
