Haha, apparently I play a ninja Gollum deck. It's built differently, but uses that exact Shelob. About that last Elven event: in my opinion it's so good because it's 0 cost and it lets you look at the opponent's hand. You then decide to play your expensive Círdan or try to deny your opponent the twilight.

I don't know much about movie block, but are nazgul or uruk so rarely played as to not have any cards make the list, or is it just that there aren't any particularly core cards for their cultures? I couldn't come up with one myself, maybe between nazgul and prey, but I guess that's specific to enduring nazgul and so may not be used enough to make the list.

Just want to say a HUGE thank you for making these lists! My sons and I are new to the game, and love hearing bits and pieces about the different strategies and how cards can be used. We've already been to eBay during a couple of your vids each time we heard something that would fit with our decks (I run Gandalf/Moria, one son Gondor/Isengard, and the other Rohan/Sauron.) We're about to start a lot of the decktech videos next!

I would argue that Legolas, Greenleaf should be #1. Such a great classic card, but doesn't feel abused like GLR.

Citadel of the Stars was such a great card! Probably the best fortification they made and Gondorian Knights was a hell of a deck, had so much fun with it! I also would like to see the same for Shadow cards, and I really hope Red Wrath is there!!!

Yes!! The Tale of The Great Ring is such an unassuming card, when i first saw it i didn't realize it doesn't have the "unless their strength is tripled" part in all the other overwhelm prevention cards. Many shadow also don't run events for pumps anymore and rely on conditions or minions game text for synergy. Intriguing that the card came with one of the starter decks for that set!

Really enjoy videos like this and I remember playing in this league! I took the window cling and put it on a clear sheet and then used it as the cover of my trade binder. The only thing I remember that's missing (and maybe these came from later leagues) but I have a nazgul and an elf pin that I got from some lotr league.

I remember participating in this way back in the day, but we mustn't have used the Ranger's Manual and standard way of earning cards. The guy who organised it put together a big spreadsheet of different things you could do in a game (like "kill the ring bearer" or "play a southron", and you earned points for completing each task. My friend at the time (11-12 years old) did something very smart - he looked at the spreadsheet and just built a deck with all the easy deck building ways of earning points, and ended up getting all the promos in week 1 by getting so many points just through the deck building process. Next week that particular loophole was closed (maximum of x points per deck, or something). But my friend didn't care - he'd already got all the promos in week one. We must have played this a little later than it originally came out (we played our altered league just after The Two Towers had come out), because of course there were no Southrons in the game at the time of original release of this league, and that was definitely one of the deck building ways of gaining points I still remember to this day. Nice trip down memory lane!

Will you have decklist somewhere or videoss for each? I am trying for similar box years. I played it since start till reflections. I get back to it in recent years just to do such smash-up box of 33 card count shadows and fellowship. Thinking to create 35 counts decks due to moria. How did you manage moria shadow side?

Surprised Eomer is not on the list. Solid choices though. Legolas would be first on my list just because it can fit in almost any decks without any requirement at all.
